Best Gulf of Mexico Beach Resorts

After spending half term just relaxing at the beach in Italy and not realising just how much we would enjoy it, we decided it might be good to also have a week relaxing after the parks next year. This year was crazy as my brothers family came for 3 weeks and even though our 10th trip we did more parks than ever.
Been looking on the map and had originally thought Longboat Key look good but now seeing so many other nice places. Wondered if anyone had any recommendations for resorts and actual places to stay. Looking for a 2 bed condo right on the beach with a pool.

Longboat and Lido Key are both great. We returned from Siesta Key and it was gorgeous. The sand feels like walking through flour! Great places to eat and many nice two bedroom condos. Crystal Sands, Siesta Breakers, Crescent Arms and Midnight Cove. Make sure you verify Gulf side. A few locations are on the gulf and bay side. We were there for 8 days with intentions of going to Disney for one night. Never made it because there was so much to do!

I have been to this resort as a kid (when it was called Sea Star Motel) and then once without kids and three times with our kids ! I love that it's sort of secluded so you don't have to worry about what your body looks like on the beach. Lots of seashells and sharks teeth, and always dolphins swimming off in the distance. It is south of Siesta and Longboat Keys, on Manasota Key in Englewood.

I have stayed at the Longboat Beach Club many times, very nice place. I always get a room on the top floor. Just a nice place.

Thankyou for suggestions, they all look good which makes it even harder to make a decision. I know my husband would love Longboat Key Club (until he saw the price!) A guy at work today recommended www.sandcayresort.com he has stayed 2 years running.
Hopefully I will see some good flight prices soon. Was all booked this time last year but cheapest flight from London still way over £700 (paid £420 last year) so will hold on for now.
