We are considering Disneyland this year but have no idea what would be the best hotel for our buck. We usually go to moderate level hotels so thats the level of amenities we are hoping for.

We stayed at The Anaheim Plaza in Sept. booked again for May. They have several buildings and rooms have outside doors, but windows are in opposite wall so people can’t look into room passing by. Huge pool, nice grounds, great make your own pizza place in hotel. Short walk to the park entrance. Rooms are nothing fancy but comfortable.

Have you considered the Candy Cane Inn? While I haven't stayed there, that is a BIG fan favorite, very easy walking distance, (it's behind Carslands) free exclusive hotel shuttle, free parking, free wifi and free breakfast. If you spend a few extra dollars on a premium room they will actually deliver the breakfast to your room which some people find pretty awesome. Rate are fairly reasonable too.

We are trying out the Castle Inn and Suites for the 1st time this year. My son saw it last time we went to Disneyland and said..."I WANT TO STAY IN THE CASTLE....PLEEEASE!" Lol! It appears to just be a very basic motel but so long as its clean, thats all we are looking for as we don't spend a lot of time there anyway and its within our range of what we consider reasonable for walking distance.
If we had a bigger budget, I would definitely pick the Courtyard!

We stayed at Candy Cane and it's kind of a sweet little spot. We're usually accustomed to "nicer" hotels (I mean, this is a motel, the decor is reallly basic, etc) but it was super super clean, and the breakfast was a plus. We had the breakfast delivered to the room and it was only maybe $10 more per night. The people at the front desk were nice, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area.

We looked at the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance and it looked nice but the prices were absurd when we looked. Like 4 times what we paid at Candy Cane Inn.

How about none of the above of the ones you have listed. But first what are you looking for in a hotel? Walking distance of 10 minutes, less than 10 minutes? Room for 5 or 6? Price? Free parking? Shuttle? Big pool for kids? Close as possible? Etc. Post what you are looking for and people will be better able to suggest hotels for you.

Agree with the above poster. "Best" is relative to each family's needs. Read the thread linked above about finding the right DLR hotel for you, then come on back with more questions. Let us know your specific needs so we can give you suggestions better suited to you.

We normally stay at the Hyatt Place. The rooms are big, plenty of space. It has a nice pool and a great free breakfast. If you sign up for the Hyatt Chase credit card, you can get 2 free nights! It's a short walk (sort of kitty corner to the Candy Cane Inn).

Have a great time!

We are marriott associates, and usually stay either at the fairfield inn, or the new residence inn by the convention center. FFI was not as nice as typical FFIs when we were there, but I believe it's been renovated. No free breakfast, but obviously super close. The RI by the convention center is AWESOME. It's perfect for us. It was built in 2016, and we always get a 1 bed suite - they have full kitchens, so we can get grocery delivery and have food (Inc refrigerated stuff like milk for toddlers) to take to the park. Also a full free breakfast. We have 3 kids under 6, plus we're usually toting carseats, so the extra room is necessary for us. FFI was a squeeze. It's about a 10 min walk to the Harbor security gates for us.
