Which of the above two is the best shopping maills? I do know its personal taste but don'tthink I can drag dear OH round both of them - as I have shopped him out (and spent all his money) :) :) :cool1: :cool1:

Kids want trainer shops and I want good shoe and handbag shops!

Thanks

Well the way I understand it is the Florida mall is just like a regular mall and the millenia is more upper class shops such as Tiffanys, but I've only been to the florida mall and the outlets but it has been fine for us.

We love Milennia Mall, but we never buy anything there. Lovely shops, great decor, nice food court, Panera Bread (with free Wifi), good parking, very exclusive, but window shopping only, I'm afraid.

For actual buying stuff, Florida Mall is far better value.

Definately agree :thumbsup2

I Love The Millenia Mall:) I Love Saks:) I Pick Up My Creme De La Mer At Saks,Costs ££££££££££££££££££££ Here But Much Cheaper There:lmao: :lmao: I Also Like Bath & Body Works Oh & The Cheesecake Factory:)

Have Fun:cool1:

If you like Macy's keep in mind that the Mall at Millenia store was originally built as a Macy's and was not a conversion from Burdines such as the other stores around Orlando. The Millenia store is more than twice the size of the Macy's at the Florida Mall and thus has considerably more selection.

Both are excellent malls.

Florida Mall is a good all-rounder but I prefer Mall At Millenia as there are special stores there that you don't find anywhere else, the food court is better and it's generally much quieter and has a touch of class about it.
True some of the stores are best for window shopping, but the Quiksilver/Tommy Bahama/Lacoste etc more than make up for it.

One thing I don't like about the Florida Mall is the people on stalls between the stores pestering you to buy polish for your silver, or a crazy looking massage device for your head (has anyone actually bought one of these?)...you don't usually get any of that at the MAM.

I buy more at the Florida mall than at the milenia, I do like bloomingdales at millenia though

For the avoidance of confusion, Saks is at the Florida Mall (and there is now also a Saks OFF 5TH at Prime Outlets), but there isn't a store at Mall at Millenia.

If I could only choose one shopping experience, Mall at Millenia would be very firmly at the top of my list, although we also visit Florida Mall at least once per trip. Florida Mall is the bigger of the two by some way, although there are many standalone retailers and restaurants around the Mall at Millenia.

The Mall at Millenia is stunning - all marble and glass - and the whole area is much newer and nicer. The Florida Mall is starting to look its age, although it added an extension a few years back and that part of the mall has a much more pleasant, light and airy vibe. Mall at Millenia does have some expensive designer stores, but they're outnumbered by regular retailers, so I don't go along with the idea that it's good for window-shopping alone. The three department stores provide a very good balance - Macy's at the budget end, Bloomingdale's in the mid-range and Neiman Marcus for a blow-out! At the Florida Mall there's a small, but very pleasant, Saks and my favourite of all the department stores, Nordstrom, as well as Macy's (see Bob's comments above - I preferred it when it was Burdines), JC Penney (yuk), Dillards (never been inside), Lord & Taylor (ditto) and Sears (yuk).

Until recently it was necessary to visit the Florida Mall for the popular Abercrombie and Fitch brand, but there's now a store at the Mall at Millenia, as well as Abercrombie (the kids version), Hollister and American Eagle. All these brands are also at Florida Mall, but it doesn't have Lucky Brand Jeans which my girls probably prefer. There's also an enormous Urban Outfitters at Mall at Millenia. Mall at Millenia also has my favourite of all the stores, Tommy Bahama as well as the cutest Sanrio store. Florida Mall has an M&Ms World which has to be seen to be believed. Both malls have Apple stores, Gap, Banana Republic, Guess and Victoria's Secret, to name just a few.

I prefer the dining options at Mall at Millenia. I like all the full-service restaurants there, although, if you've never eaten at one before, you should try the Cheescake Factory - a gargantuan menu with something for everyone. At Florida Mall, Salsa Taqueria & Tequilla Bar is good and Buca di Beppo is huge fun, if not the most authentic Italian you'll ever have eaten (I read last week that it had been bought by Robert Earl of Planet Hollywood fame, so I doubt it'll get better any time soon). It also boasts a huge food court, but it's donkey's years since I ate there. The food court at Mall at Millenia is quite small, although, in keeping with the rest of the mall, looks very nice. Food courts aren't my thing, so I'm not the best person to make any recommendations.

And hair straighteners. I have poker straight hair, so you'd think they'd figure I already own a fully-functioning pair! :rotfl:

:)

Find the more you visit the Florida Mall the more annoying these 'sellers' become.
One of them actually ran out and put one of these spider-looking contraptions on my head once. She never did again I might add. ;)

I was going to make similar comments about JC Penney and Sears = "yuk", Dillard's I find is 'ok' especially if you like Polo Ralph Lauren.

i love all your changing signature pictures!! (a bit off topic... :rolleyes1 )

Thanks Beth - just wish I had more, roll on next April.

well i leave mine (super) curly - so they thankfully don't bother me...
i guess they're smart enough to realise that i'm not interested in straightening my hair.....though i used to....for years and years and years...finally gave it up and went 'natural'...i am soooooooo much happier now....no fuss no muss....wash my hair and i'm done.....

most of the big malls in the US have these kiosk sellers....and apparently people do buy all that nonsense....i find it hard to believe that anyone would....but they do....

We love Mall at Millenia, It has different shops you don't see in the other malls. It has a great little shop next to Macy's full of Hello Kitty stuff, Both DD and I loved it in there and spent a small fortune. The foodcourt is much nicer too, with something to suit everyone.

We also make a couple of trips to the Florida Mall on each visit and get make some great purchases here.

My DH does not like shopping over here but when were in Florida he is more than happy to go to the Malls, so if you can i would persuade your DH to visit both:)

I prefer the Florida Mall personally due to the wider variety of stores but will probably always visit Mall at Millenia for the Cheesecake Factory and Sanrio store :goodvibes We liked Festival Bay aswell but it is much smaller, Fuddruckers there is fantastic :)

Mall at Millenia - A mixture of good shops and department stores, Bloomingdales and lots of high end Designer stores and Tiffany's too, you get the picture. Be prepared to spend alot of $$$$

Florida Mall - More of your everyday kind of shopping Mall, shoe shops, Old Navy, JC Penney, Abercrombie & Fitch, huge food hall, that kind of thing.

We walked around the Florida Mall in less than an hour last summer and all we bought was sweets for DS;) That's not good I've always got my eyes open for a bargain or two, we couldn't find a thing we wanted to buy. For us it was not as good as the Metro Centre here in Gateshead. I do like the Premium Outlets though always a great place for a spot of shopping and the ones at Buena Vista outlets are okay too. They had a good choice of Gap clothes and there were a couple of other clothes shops and sports stores.
We did enjoy the brief visit to the Walmart near LBV though lots of goods there and clothing too.

I really love all the Malls and the Premium Outlet Mall.

At the Florida Mall my favourtie dept stores are Macys, Nordstrom and Saks. Nordstrom have the most wonderful handbags and shoes with real old fashioned shop assistants who were wonderful. When we were trying on shoes we had our own sales guys who was fetching all the different shoes that we wanted and being as helpful as was humanly possible. They also have a Bandolino (part of Nine West) shoe shop there which was packed with wonderful shoes.

I just love the Millenia Mall but unfortunately cannot afford too much. Tiffany's is much cheaper than the UK and is very affordale. Their designer shops e.g. Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc are exactly the same prices as the UK. I do love the whole experience of shopping in this mall though.

The Premium Outlet Mall is great and you can pick up many, many bargains there. They have lots of shoe shops and handbag shops, Coach being one of them. I managed to pick up a fair few bits and pieces in this Mall that were very cheap compared with the UK.

I'm sure that wherever you go you'll find many things to buy as it's a shoppers paradise. I find shopping very theraputic and just love it!!
