Hi all :wave2:

I'm going to be a senior in high school this year :cool1: Soon I'll be applying to colleges and making my decision. I will probably make at least two college visit, possibly a few more. We will also be traveling to Orlando in May for my graduation.

I was wondering if there is a good flight rewards program that would benefit us? We hardly ever fly, so we know nothing about this kind of thing.

The best depends on where you live and where you will often be flying to.

I have found that with my patterns I fly Delta the most, with United second. However, my last trip was on American. I am a member of all three airline programs.

Southwest had a great promotion that they run every couple of months.

You receive 50k miles by signing up with their promo code & spending $2,000 on the first 3 months.

That can equal to about 2-4 roundtrips depending on the time of the year and point value

. . . I have found that with my patterns I fly Delta the most, with United second. However, my last trip was on American. I am a member of all three airline programs.

1) Although a member of several programs, I use Delta.
. . . have earned over 3,000,000 miles flying Delta
. . . still have over 390,000 in my mileage "bank"
2) Unless you use one airline, you don't accumulate miles quickly.
3) Besides, I was a loyal Northwest Airline customer before Delta.
4) Now, I just want the Delta system to come up to the quality of NWA.

Southwest, hands down the simplest program to use, that provides lots of flight discounts..... get the credit card with the 50k point offer NOW, then use that card to pay for your normal life(no extra, just normal) then have fun using those points for free flights!

Do not get the credit card - you do not need it. Maybe if your parents want it then fine, but you do not need a credit card at 17.

As far as what rewards program, it really does depend where you are from and what airlines have big hubs at you closest airport. What good is a great rewards program if the flight is more expensive than with other airlines ;)

I like Southwest, the flights are the cheapest for our area and there are several reward point sites that give Southwest rewards (Swagbucks, eMiles, eRewards). Plus they always have a promotion/game/giveaway :thumbsup2
