What's the best fish dish you've had? I'm especially interested in Concourse Steakhouse, California Grill, Coral Reef, Brown Derby and Artist's Point but let me know where to find a great fish meal. :Pinkbounc

One of our favorites is the cedar plank salmon at Artist Point. We also really love the Peeky Toe Crab Cakes at Flying Fish.

We have the recipes for both and make the dishes at home when the time between trips is too long.

Thanks for the fast response Jen (and by the way, I'm from Cherry Hill, NJ and I Love Philly!) :goodvibes

The Cedar Plank Salmon at Artis Point is to die for. I never had salmon before I ate it here. YMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I've heard many reports that the Macadamian Mahi Mahi at Kona is better than most of the fish dishes at the signature restaurants. I plan on trying it on my trip in mid October.

BTW--I live in Maple Shade, NJ!!

There's no place like home!! We have family in Cherry Hill ... not far from the mall. And we know Maple Shade too.

Just to keep us on topic;) The seafood at Coral Reef was excellent last time we were there... DD had a tough time watching the fish in the tank and watching the fish on our plates.:faint:

The Potato Wrapped Snapper at Flying Fish was amazing. Hey Jen? Willing to share the recipes?

Fish and chips at Yorkshire, in Epcot's UK pavilion.

Take my advice, though: don't use tartar sauce from the outdoor bins that have been sitting in 90+ degree heat! It ain't pretty.

Crab Cakes at Kona (only a appetizer sadly, I could have made a meal out of them!) and the Grouper at The Brown Derby.

The Calamari at Fulton's. Sometimes I think we fly down for the Calamari and do WDW on the side ;)

Pan Roasted Golden Tilefish with Spring Vegetable Risotto at the Flying Fish back in 1998.

Amazing. My friend (who also chose the same dish) and I remarked for months afterwards that it was the best seafood dish we had ever had...and we were regular lunch-goers back in our hometown of Sydney, Australia (also known for its seafood)...

Cheers,

Joe

The maple glazed salmon at Le Cellier is wonderful!!!!!

The pan fried grouper at the Brown Derby in MGM is melt in your mouth good.
I had a mushroom risotto Mahi-mahi at the California grill that was to die for too!!

Potato-wrapped snapper at FF, pan-fired grouper at HBD, Tilapia Oscar at Coral Reef...I've got some others, but can't think of them right now! LOL! DD says her grouper at HBD was the best fish she's had, and we have fish at almost every meal while in WDW! :sunny:

p.s. Oh, remembered a fantastic sauteed flounder with risotto that was to die for at Narcoossee's, but it isn't always on the menu.

The potato wrapped snapper at Flying Fish is out of this world ..as are the peeky toe crab cakes. Actually, I have never gotten anything at Flying Fish that is didn't like. Their steak is excellent if you are not in a fish mood or have non seafood eaters in your party. The service is great, the place just beautiful .. and we enjoy strolling a bit on the Boardwalk afterwards.

Thanks to all for the recommendations! I've never had grouper but it seems to be a big hit. Can anyone describe this fish to me? Is it light and flaky or like a "steak" fish such as salmon or swordfish? We have an ADR for HBD and that grouper sounds very tempting. :goodvibes

i don't know what is is like there but here it is usually more like tilapia ( sp???) or perch like fillets than steaks like salmon or swordfish. very mild white fish. yummy grilled ( how we usually make it)

It is exactly as jann1033 describes, a tender, flaky white fish filet, like flounder. Not a heavier fish, such as salmon, swordfish, etc. :sunny:
