Best First Time Value

Hi all - me and dd 4 will be heading to the World for a trip alone in August. Since this is a completely unplanned trip and not pre-budgeted, we are trying to save and are going to stay at a value. I'm really excited about this because I have heard so many wonderful things about the values - especially about kids loving them. We normally stay deluxe so this will be my first experience value - which one should I chose and why?

All Star Movie- the enormous Buzz and Woody were the deal sealer for our kids. It was a nice resort and we enjoyed the food court. We have since bought DVC, but would stay here again if the kids would want to. Have a great trip.

I agree with pp the huge Buzz and Woodie is hard to beat.
However DH and I recently stayed at Pop and we both really liked it.
I would say now out of the values Pop is our first choice.

The only value we have stayed at is Pop. It was my ds, dniece, dnephew, myself, and my three dds. They all loved it. They loved the pools and the big icons around the resort. The ages of the kids ranged from 6-12.
They also have an area that the younger girls liked that sprayed water up from the ground. It is a very cute resort.

Let's start at what's most important, what's available for your dates in Aug? If all of them, then I'd say Pop because it has it's own bus service.

We've stayed at all of the values except Sports ('cause we don't care too much for playing sports ). We love the values because they are so much fun!!! Children the age of your DD4 usually prefer AS Movies because of the Dalmations and TS sections. My DS17 and DD16 love ASMusic for their value choice (BC is their favorite over-all, but ASMusic is still the "fun" resort!). If your DD loves music, then ASMusic would be really fun for her, but some of the types of music and decorations would be some that she wouldn't understand. POP is always a good choice, and the pools are great too. Hippy Dippy Pool is our favorite POP pool and Fantasmic pool is the best at ASMo.

No matter which you choose, you will have a blast!!!

Yes, all are available for our dates. I think I've narrowed it down to POP and All Star Movies. Any thoughts on ways to decide between the two? I'm not too concerned about transportation because I'll have a rental.

I have stayed at POP 2x

Pros: its own busses, the only value with a pop jet fountain ( like near Ariel's Grotto) Large Mowgli Icon Cons: HUGE property (cms use segways)

I have stayed at ASMusic 1x

Pros: Friendly hotel staff, organized activities for children, friendliest guests I've ever met poolside, movies at night, smaller property Cons:busses are standing room only at night, rooms are older (smaller TV/older furniture,) Icons not as kid friendly:maracas, drums, etc.

...I am staying at all star Music this summer...I hope this helps

We have stayed at ASMo twice, but we stayed at POP on our last trip. I have to admit that I am sold on POP. There is something about the theming of ASMo that is a little more "Disney", but Pop's theming is really fun. The food court and pools are nice. The service was very fast. We stayed in the 50's section near the pool. Although there were lots of people, things were never overly crowded. My ds and dd loved the ducks. I am really sold on Pop. Hope this helps. You really can't go wrong either way.

AS Mu was refurbished last year and is great!! AS Mo is where we just stayed and it was not bad at all. We enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again if AS Mu is full (since that's DS and DD's favorite value). We've stayed at POP nine times and loved it every time, but like PP said, it is really big. They are all lots of fun though!!!!

I've only stayed at POP....but I picked it because it in newer....worked out the kinks from allstars. No shared buses....and Petals pool bar

Our favorite value is the All Star Movies. Great resort!! We were very pleased with the service & food at the foodcourt.

We gave Pop a try in 2004 and won't go back. Poor, poor service and some of the worst food we've ever had.

We've stayed at them all -- my favorite is AS Sports but that's because I was there with DS a few years ago and we're both big sports fans. Depending on the age of your children and what their favorite characters are, I'd say POP is the best choice, but they're all pretty much the same so pick one based on the decor you want. I love the values. They're our favorite place to stay now. My kids are grown and gone so there are no space issues anymore. we've stayed at all the deluxes too.

love pop - but Asmo and Asmu are both okay too.

so is sports for that matter - it is going through rehab now.

just remember - these are not deluxes - don't go expecting a lesser deluxe.

there are several thousand people at each of these resorts..

Pop has 2,880 rooms
all star movie and sports has 1,920 rooms


while the Polyn - in more space - has 847 rooms.

so please accept a value for what it is - a chance to be a Disney for far less money.
music has less because of the suites - 1532 room?

Pop Century, most definitely. It is the newest of all of the values and very fun. There's plenty to see and do as well.

Pop! We are a deluxe family and we loved Pop. next trip we even trying a moderate to save $$$.
