Hello! We are a family of four, two grown ups and two boys, 10 & 8. I am a WDW vet, but haven't been to DL since I was a kid in 1986! I was wondering is there a favorite character meal? My kids don't hate princesses, but they're not something we would go out of the way for. My youngest really wants to meet Stitch, who seems elusive at DL.

We will have one day that is a park free day, so I was thinking lunch or dinner that day in one of hotels would be good, but I'm not against a park restaurant either.

Thanks!

If you are looking for Stitch, then Surfs Up at Paradise Pier Hotel is your choice. It's only breakfast, but I would do it as a late breakfast on your off day.

Our favorite is Plaza Inn, but that's in the parks. It has more characters and a greater variety, but typically no Stitch.

Surfs up is a close second to Plaza Inn for me. You can only do breakfast and you will get to see Stitch.
If you really want lunch or dinner on a non park day I would do Goofys kitchen. It's fun,we've seen Minnie ,Pluto, chip n dale, and I think daisy. Goofy meets in the beginning for a phot op. Food is pretty good and you can order alcohol!

plaza inn: Minnie, Pooh, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale, Eeyore (sometimes you will also see the fairy godmother)
Goofy's Kitchen: Goofy, pluto, Minnie, chip and dale
Surf's up: Mickey, Stitch, daisy (sometimes Minnie, goofy, pluto)

just heads up, Surf's up used to be regular character meal, but it's now listed as premium.

Daisy is not a regular at Goofy's. Typically it's Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto.

I don't know if we saw more characters bc it was a weekend, but at Plaza Inn breakfast there were like 11. Off the top of my head, to add to the previous list, we saw Peter Pan, Max, some wolf I don't know, and Rafiki.

The food is better at Goofy's kitchen, the character selection was better at Plaza Inn. Plaza Inn also seemed more crowded? something about the layout maybe. Goofy's seemed a little more private for everyone.

As the mom of a Stitch fanatic, I will say that the only sure fire place in all of DLR to see Stitch is Surf's Up at the PPH. I really enjoy this character breakfast and most of the 'classics' are there too. We've seen Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Daisy all 3 times we've done this meal and 2 of the 3 times we saw Goofy as well. Character interaction is typically awesome. My second choice would be Plaza Inn for sheer number of characters. I don't find the food to be that amazing at any of the character meals except maybe Storytellers.

If you decide to go somewhere other than Surf's Up, the only other regular meet for Stitch is the Disney Visa Cardholder private M&G in DCA. He is usually there (rotating with some others but the CM running the area can tell you when/if he will be there). People occasionally report other random Stitch sightings in DCA but they are few and far between.

Was the "wolf" reddish in color and behaving badly (all in fun, of course)? I have seen Brer Fox at the Plaza Inn so it may have been him. We have seen the Fairy Godmother there, as mentioned, as well as Pooh and Perla.

May also have been the wolf from Pinocchio - we've seen him at Minnie's breakfast, as well as LOTS of others.
