Best DVC Resort For Young Kids (4 & 1.5)

Does anyone have any opinions on what the best DVC reosrt (in WDW) is for young kids (ages 1.5 & 4)?

We've stayed at most DVC resorts and loved them all but interests have changed as our kids are now the focal point of our trips. We our currently booked at SS (home resort) for next May; however, we are thinking about switching over to another resort at our 7 month mark. Personally, I love BLT and the proximity to the MK is great for the kids. The BC and BW are also favorites for various reasons. SS has some great pool areas for the kids and also allows us to walk over to DD which saves us from having to plan that into our schedule.

If you have one or more resorts that you feel are better fits for kids, we would love to hear where and why?

We have stayed at several with our kids, and so far they have enjoyed the Wilderness Lodge the best.

Any particular reason why? This is actually one of the resorts we haven't stayed at yet but want to try.

They enjoyed everything about it. The lodge setting, pools, and we felt safe with them there. They enjoyed the children's activity area, water pageant, beach, and nightly movies. We have stayed there in both January and August. On the cold or rainy nights they moved the movies to a big screen TV in the Villas lobby. They also liked the entertainment at the Boardwalk, but as parents, we had to keep a constant eye on them while walking around.

We have also stayed at SSR, OKW and AKL, but our kids were really to young to enjoy those resorts.

Kidani- I know you can't walk to a park there. I know you would have to walk or take a bus for quick service food but their splash play area is AWESOME for kids- mine are a bit older but still really had a great time playing. We loved seeing the animals and felt totally relaxed here.

PVB- Poly has it all for kids that range- the splash play area is fantastic. Monorail is convenient (esp if staying in Moorea since you can walk to TTC). Great food options. We fell in love and can't wait to return.

My parents home resort is The BoardWalk and I have stayed they near the ages of the two kids you have. I was 1 years old my first time and 4 another time. I myself don't remember much from those visits but I just asked my Mom how I enjoyed The BoardWalk Resort when I was these ages and she said I had a blast. She said I loved the pool as a Toddler and Pre-Schooler. She said I would play at the poolside with my toys and big sister who is 3 years older than me and never wanted to go back to the room for rest time.

If MK will be your main park I would pick BLT for easy in and out. A 1 yo and 4yo might enjoy the other oaks but MK will be the one you will do over and over. There are so many attractions for little ones.

AKV is a great resort, whether you pick Kidani my favorite or Jambo, both have great savannas and animals to see. Kidani has the better pool and pool bar! We've stayed at them all except the Poly and our faves are OKW AKV BLT SSR & BWV!
