My fiancé and I are having a Disney Fairytale Wedding in October. We have to stay 4 nights at a Disney resort. I am a DVC member and will have to borrow points for this, as we are staying next month for the Princess Half Marathon and are doing a 1-bedroom for that one.

We want a studio and are looking at Beach Club or WL. My preference is WL. We will have to book at 7 months out, so I know that will be difficult to get a room at either one. I own at BLT.

What would be your suggestions for a place to stay? By then, we will both have stayed at BLT, Jambo, BWV. I LOVE OKW, but the two bed thing really isn't what I'm looking for for a honeymoon. I stayed at Kidani once, and HATED it. It was just took loud everywhere. SSR seems to far away for me.

Any suggestions would be helpful. How lucky do you have to be to get a studio at VWL at 7 months?

That time of year, I think the getting VWL will be easier to get at 7 months than BCV due to F & W. I have stayed at both and I liked VWL. We are staying there in May. I think it'd be perfect for a bit of honeymoon. There is a fireplace, rockers, etc. and it feels cozy to me. But, BCV puts you very close to Epcot and lots of dining options, etc.

Congratulations on the upcoming day!!!

I didn't even think about F&W. Thats a good point. The resort won't make a big deal, really. I know I can usually find room at AKL, we just thought about doing something different, if possible.

Can anyone who owns at VWL look and see if there are any studios available for Oct 19-23? If there aren't any, I can talk to my fiancé about the other options. We are going to switch to the Swan/Dolphin for a few days until we go on the cruise using my fiance's Starwood points, if possble.

We have asked that people not look up and post availability for others. Unless you are ready to book, there really is no point. Plus, people who own at those resorts may have booked to have a room and will be changing out at 7 months, changing things from today.

Matter of fact, my wait list for a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT just came through today, just a few days after the 7 month window. I had to book the lock off version at 11 months so its obvious now that an owner decided to change.

I just want to try to move on to what I know can happen. I hate not knowing. I hate getting my hopes up. If I know there there is little to no chance that there is availability, I won't get too excited at 7 months. I understand though.

And I can't really wait list. I will need to know where I am going to stay in order to have things arranged, such as my hair/makeup service and travel times for the limo pick up.

I guess I will just take my chance.

Unfortunately, even though it's a honeymoon, I'm afraid you will likely have to take what is available this time. The good thing is that as DVC owners, you can have the opportunity to stay all over the DVC world for many years to come.

Congratulations on your upcoming big day!!!

WL studio should be very likely in that timeframe

Certainly, there are no guarantees, but I'd rate your chances of getting into VWL at the seven-month point as good. The EPCOT resorts and BLT tend to book up rather quickly during F&W (we waitlisted two of those last November, and neither came through), but VWL generally isn't. We'll be at VWL in July for our Escape wedding. Best of luck to you in your search and congratulations!

In 2009 we had a vow renewal at WDW. It was a full wedding & we did it at the GF with 50 of our family & friends. My point for telling you this is, I would be thinking of location of my room based on where the wedding will be.

We are DVC members too & we let our family members use our points for their rooms. Then we used the 40% discount DFTW gives you for a room at the GF. My ceremony was at the wedding pavilion & reception at the White Hall room so it was important for me to be at the same resort. It made it so much easier on that day. We still used the limo for transportation that they give you too. Also, think about that day getting ready. Having hair/ makeup people and/or photographer/ videographer. That's a lot if people in a studio. If you do go with a DVC room I would do a 1 bedroom. Also, is your fiancé going to get ready in the same room? Will he have to get ready in a family members room? Where will that room be?

I'm just trying to say that for a wedding I would be thinking about those things instead of basing it on a DVC resort we never stayed in. Maybe do the night before & of the wedding where the wedding will be & then use your DVC for the honeymoon?
