Best DVC resort for a 3 night stay in late March near EPCOT?

Going to WDW for 3 nights before a cruise arriving 3/27/13. We have 2 potential park days and I want to spend them at EPCOT (only EPCOT). I don't go to the parks all day so I want a resort to come back to for pool/rest time. Which do you recommend for that time of year? I'd like minimal transportation issues and am not renting a car. The 7 month booking mark is coming up soon.

Thanks! :)

Boardwalk Villa and Beach Club Villa are the 2 resorts where you can walk to Epcot. Either of those two would be a great choice if you can secure a room for your dates.

Thank you! How likely am I to get one of those for those dates? I only need a studio.

That is the week before Easter which is usually pretty busy. You are almost certain to be able to get a preferred view studio at BWV. BW view at BWV might be tough and standard view even tougher. BCV is a smaller resort but there are not different categories for a studio there so you could also get lucky at BCV. The fact that you only need 3 nights will work in your favor. If you can't get all 3 nights when booking opens online 7 months out, then I would take the days you can get and waitlist. I'll bet your waitlist will eventually be filled. Good luck and have a great cruise!

As long as you are not talking about the prime Easter/Spring Break week, then I think you have a decent shot at something. You might get BCV since its not yet summer. I would be prepared for BWV Pool view (the biggest category)

Actually a studio works against you. Typically, 2BR book first, then studios, then 1BR last...

not sure they are popular resorts and you are going right before Easter? I would imagine you would have better luck at boardwalk though..if you do it right at the 7 month mark you will most likely be ok at boardwalk...(you can always wait list if you don't get it initially)

You might want to look into another resort in case those 2 aren't available... maybe Old key West (close to Epcot but you will take a bus) or SSR (close to Epcot, but you will take a bus)). Plus both those resorts have boats to DTD.

How is the Boardwalk pool? I'm not fond of clowns, lol.

The pool itself is great, and has a pool bar.. many think the slide at BWV is smoother and more enjoyable than the BCV slide.

Most pool/water view rooms do not face the clown, (halaside the main pool area rooms would face the back of the clown/keister coaster slide) and there is also the quiet pool section.

if you actually do have the option of booking either BCV or BWV:):
i would pick BCV if you have little ones (under 8-ish). they love the pool and the resort/lobby is more "kid friendly" (louder, more active). there are also character meals (which anyone can book).
if you are a family of adults/pre-teens/teens, BWV might be the better choice for its quieter, more elegant main areas, lots of nighttime options and activities, community hall, etc

of course, others might feel differently or even the total opposite;)
btw, i gave a friend a BWV vacation for her 21st birthday/college graduation (she purchased kidani on that trip:thumbsup2). afterwards, she stayed at the BCV with her 6yo neice and 2yo nephew. she told me she ONLY wants the BWV when by herself with friends, but that the kids liked the pool at BCV so that would be her choice when with the little ones.
enjoy your vaca!

I'm really hoping for a BCV studio (vs a 1bed to save on points). I don't care about the view at this point.

What are my chances? We arrive Mar 27th and are staying for 3 nights. Our Spring break starts April 1st. I'm in CA.

I've been looking at pictures of both resorts and researched the transportation. I'd be happy with either. Really looking forward to this! Thanks for your help! :)
