Hey all- Just wondering if anyone has traveled from Phoenix east valley area lately and if there are any road issues? What is the best route? We will be traveling at night, so any advice is welcomed? Thanks! P.S. We are going midnite 12/7 and returning afternoon 12/9 any thoughts on times to avoid being on the road due to traffic congestion? This is our first DL trip so sorry if this queston has already been asked a million times, but I know that there might be construction issues that are new.

I'd just take the I-10 all the way to the 57 and then south to Ball road. It's most direct and helps with avoiding Riverside morning traffic and horrible 60/91 interchange.

The wife and I just drove throught Phx. on the way back home to Long Beach. Besides the freeway construction in and around Phx., there were no other issues once we got past that area. Like DangerMouse said, 10 to the 57 would be the easiest route.

Actually, we had no issues on the 60/91 interchange. It is very easy and way better than it used to be.

We take I-10 to Beaumont/Banning and get on the 60. In Riverside, we get on the 91 and then take the Harbor Blvd. Exit in Fullerton and head to Disneyland.

We have taken both ways, going through Riverside was very bad with construction. If that's done now the interchange could be better now?

We have taken 10/57 the last couple times we have driven. We have ran in to some traffic on 57, but nothing too bad. If you are leaving at 12a, then I'd say you won't have anything to worry about! :goodvibes

Well, unless they close the freeway down. I'm not saying that they are planning on doing this but you might want to check somewhere (maybe the caltrans website?) to see which, if any freeways might be closed during the night. I only mention this because we have had numerous occassions over the years where we're driving home from somewhere late at night and they close the freeway down. They would direct us off the freeway and have a few detour signs up but pretty soon the line of traffic we were following would disappear and the detour signs would disappear and then we are in middle of who-knows-where in the middle of the night. Not fun. And actually, a few weekends ago they apparently had the 91 closed at night because we got caught in bad traffic as they were just opening it up again in the morning. Just thought i would mention that possibility so you can look into it and not be caught off-guard. :goodvibes
