What is the best Disney book that you have read? Not necessarily any particular theme. Could be behind the scenes, history, little known facts, etc. Just curious...

Windows on Main Street for insider history, and Bob Thomas's Walt Disney book.

Lou Mongello has a WDW trivia book that is fun and informative. It's a good way to learn a ton about WDW without reading a narrative. :thumbsup2

Great topic...

(1)Realityland
(2)Kingdom Keeper books are great
(3)Since the World Began
(4)Keys to the Kingdom
(5)Imagineering

Kingdom Keepers...gotta love feeling like a kid again while reading those!!

Any Disney triva book is great...I guess im partially biased towards Jason Surrell books since he was at our 'Dining with an Imagineer!!!'

Disney Animation, the illusion of life
Storming the Magic Kingdom
Disney's World
and what others have said.

Another fan of Kingdom Keepers. I bought both for my son (now I am hooked and awaiting the third).

My two faves, by far, in order..

1. Disney War-GREAT writer and so much behind the scenes info. about Disney!
2. Creating Magic-Lee Cockerell-great for everyone IMO

Was actually a manager at a hotel near our city...5 minutes away...So I wrote to him...He was not very receptive, nor responsive. All he did was say make sure you tell others to read my book....:confused3 I guess I expected a little more from a former Disney Exec...

1) Imagineering Legends and the Genesis of the Disney Theme Park by Jeff Kurtii
2) Designing Disney by John Hench
3) Spinning Disney's World by Charles Ridgeway
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

One of the great things to be found on the D23 web page is a selected bibliography of books on Disney. You can find it here: http://d23.disney.go.com/library/000000_WDA_AL_SelectedBibliography.html

I am using my library (and its inter-library loan services) to read my way through as many of these as I can. I am actually reading one not of the lsit right now which I highly recommend: "The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story" by Leslie Iwerks (his granddaughter and daughter of recent Disney legend Don Iwerks). -- Suzanne
