but now kids are in college and income is lower, so any advice or great deals please let me know for may 2010 wdw or dis crusise lines

Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary! That is a great accomplishment and you should certainly celebrate it.

And I also understand about having less income that in the past. It's hard. But there is ways around things.

While staying @ GF is nice (stayed once during better times), it not most reasonable priced, even with some discounts/seasons.

Questions is what do you plan to do @ WDW?
If you plan to be in the parks the whole day, then consider spending the money on other things (special dinners, etc.).

You don't have to stay @ GF to enjoy the GF...

You have dinner (or lunch, less expensive),
A day @ the spa (or just less expensive treatment),
Rent watercraft from the marina,
Just walk around (Free),
AND my favorite, watch the fireworks from the marina (FREE).

While it not the same as staying there, you still get the flavor of GF.

Think of length of the trip.
If it's a short trip, you may be able to splurge. But if you staying longer, there plenty other options on and off property.

When do you plan to go?
Don't know if they offer Free Dinning in 2010 but that may help if offered. That's usually late Aug/Early Sept. Maybe wait til then.

There are lots of posts that can help you. Many helpful people but I have noticed there are few that can be discouraging. Just disregard them. Just ask your questions.

I hope this helps. It know it not very specific.

Lee Ann thanks , its in may, and hate to break my promise and the promise was GF , but we have enjoyed starting with FW /CONT/ twice/ Carrib/ and we enjoyed all of them, and even just a week at Vero Beach, so your right lots of different options, just hate it a year ago, wouldn't have even gave it a second thought, but loose 50k income in salary , not to mention investments we lost, but we are lucky still have jobs, so far, two gret kids half way through college and our house we just paid off 3 years and 6 months early our x-mas present to each other,

just trying to see all my prices and options, last year you know they offered stay 4 get three free, though I saw something like that this year but it was stay 3 get 2 free? thought I saw it on x-mas day during the dis parade ?
any way keep your ideas comming for me, need all the help I can get,

Personally, the GF isn't what we like. Since you promised her the GF when times were better and if you had a 50K difference in pay since last year, things are not better yet! Talk to her and get her feelings on it. If my DH had that large of a pay cut we certainly would be downsizing our vacation this year.

Cmatt: CONGRATULATIONS to you both!

We are actually celebrating our 25th in '10 too! The dh said we'd do a quick trip (we're NE and Disney is Not really his thing....but I am ADDICTED to it and he humors me, LOL) and I chose Contemporary but actually re-thinking that now........

But I digress....have you gone on the disney website and "made out to purchase a package"??? Reason I say this.....Many are getting pins this way....I can say from first hand experience, I actually got 2 pins, literally within days of doing this...I used the dh email address and did a pkg under mine too. I got all the way to the "pay" and then clicked out. A pop up came, I wrote that i was looking for a better deal to afford the trip and sent it. Within days..got not one but 2 pins that cover 2010 and 40% of deluxe, 30 off mods and forgot the rest.....
Best of Luck...give it a try ...Sending Pixie dust your way....:wizard:

BY the way, POR is VERY romantic resort at night...beautiful walking trails, great little bar and piano show (FREE and kinda funny first time you see/experience it) boat ride FREE to DTD (more great things to eat and see) and also horse and carriage rides you can book.....we LOVE it and for me it is our Home away from home.....with that pin it is so cheap, I cannot see booking contemp even with the 40 off! I am VERY on the fence...............again, good luck! :cheer2:

Maybe you could look into renting someone's DVC points from a member. Then, you could stay at the GF using those points. Would your wife understand if part of the stay is at the GF and part at a moderate? That could really lower the hotel cost for you. Also, in past years there were buy four days get three free at the hotels. Maybe they will offer that in 2010 too. :thumbsup2

thanks I will look into that, cmatt

a1tinkfans Back at you, where do you think I would look into someone selling vc points ? con grats on your ann as well !

there is a gift card promo going on now, stay 5 nights deluxe get 750 gift card included 5 day passes

price it out on the site, the 750 can pay for your dining or spa or giftys

congrats on your 25th!
