Best deal on resort for Christmas-New Years??

Whats the best deal you have found for a Disney resort (any) during the Cristmas-New Years' break? I'm looking for next year. Does anyone know when the promotions will start for that time?

There are not discounts at any disney resort after 12/23, at least for the past 4 years. It is prime time at the most expensive rates. We did get Swan with teacher discount for that week 2003-4. We are DVC members and usually stay with our points, but last year added on 2-nights at Poly concierge and used our disney visa reward points and it was $$$(thank goddness for disney visa).

Good luck on deals. If you can get a room at full rack rate, consider yourself lucky. Most rooms go for much greater than statndard rack rate. I think the YC usually sells for $305 without discounts. For this time of year, they were over $400 a night.

Compared to Disney rack rates which are really high the time frame you are considering, the swan and dolphin has good rates for decent rooms.

We'll be at Pop from 12/31-1/5 this year. The first two nights wound up being $150 a night booking straight Holiday season rack rate. From 1/1-1/5 I booked at the AP rate which I believe was $70-ish with preferred view.

It was hard to find any rooms at first, and I booked before Halloween :O

Wow! Thanks for the advice. Now I remember why we stayed at the Grosvenor The last Christmas trip-we had $59 rooms!!!! I think that was a priceline deal. I guess I'd better suck it up and go ahead and make a reservation. I want to make sure we have a room, my son is in the high school band and they are preforming in WDW then. I can't wait!

Check ins 10/1/06-12/23/06 package discounts for general public became available on 8/17/06, exp 9/30/06
Check ins 10/30/06-12/23/06 "available to anyone" room-only code became available on 9/28/06, exp 10/29/06
Check ins 11/1/06-12/23/06 package discounts for general public became available on 10/2/06, exp 10/31/06

Yeah -- you and many others (inlcuding myself) would a WDW NYE room deal. But you won't find one. Many guests even book a year in advance (if not more) for NYE.
So, for a less expensive place, you will want to look off site.
