We know nothing of Universal Studios (we have only been to Disney in the past). We will be traveling fall 2011 (Oct. 22 - Nov. 1) and would like to visit WWOHP for one day. How do I find out what would be a better day (for lower crowds) to visit the park? Are there any sites similar to touring plans or tourguide mike that can point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.

I came venturing over to this part of the boards with the exact same question. Oh great DISers, please inform us!

Early in the week is your safest bet Mon-Wed. I've heard mixed opinions on Sundays. Sunday mornings might be busy but afternoons are quieter. All the parks are busy on Saturdays, especially MK, US and IOA/HP. A lot of locals visit on Saturdays. If there are special events at Disney, then it might be slower at Universal that day, though the Halloween party runs many days. Halloween would be a cool time to visit HP, but I'm sure other people will get that idea too, so it could be busy.

I subscribe to touring plans and I don't think I've seen anything more on HP on the site than I saw in the book (Unofficial Guide). However, they are starting to gather data on lines at US or at least WWOHP and MIGHT eventually add that to the Lines program (which is pretty cool btw). I don't think TourGuideMike has anything. Undercover Tourist has an I-Phone app that might have something by then too.

Conferences or conventions might alter crowds too. If a conference is held closer to Universal than Disney, it might alter crowds the days before and after, and late in the day. The Convention and Visitor's Bureau (or whatever it's called in Orlando) might be a good source of info as you get closer to your dates.
