Tuesday Halloween day, Nov 1 or 2.

We're coming from a different time zone so we would be up early and probably not stay past 5-6pm .

Are you only going for 1 day? I would probably avoid Halloween because of Oggie Boogie Bash.

We are going for 2 days.

Probably Disneyland only / might just skip dca or maybe if budget allows , get a hopper but only after we did everything we wanted in Disneyland
It's me & 5yo .
so no incredicoaster , no guardians/ tower of terror thing, and we'd skip all things that are the same as wdw

I would also suggest avoiding Halloween if possible.
Is Halloween usually packed? Or do most people stay home do their own thing for Halloween? Locals more likely to have school or trick or treat in their own area?

I can't speak for others. In our neighborhood, fewer kids are trick or treating door to door.

None of the Magic Keys have Halloween blocked out. As of today, there are no MK reservations available at Disneyland. DCA still has reservations available.

Disneyland is busier on OBB days.

DCA closes early on OBB nights. People without park hoppers reserve Disneyland because they will get a full day/evening in the park.

OBB guests can enter DCA at 3 pm. You'll start to see crowds waiting outside the park an hour or two before then. Once the OBB people enter DCA, regular guests with park hoppers will hop to Disneyland. Anyone that is not participating in OBB needs to leave DCA before 6 pm.

I went a few years in a row on November 1 and it was very nice, but last year it was very busy. I'm not sure if that was a fluke or if it will be busy again this year. I am planning on going that day because my son has the day off school (Capo Unified School District in Orange County).

I have not been on Halloween day myself but I have heard it's actually not bad. A lot of local kids will want to go to school that day to dress up and want to trick or treat at home (like mine) so it could be pretty nice but be aware of DCA closing at 6pm for Oogie Boogie Bash (will be crazy from 3-6pm).

How does oogie boogie bash influence crowds?
Like Lking said, any time there's a nighttime event it will effect crowds in both parks especially during the evening.

I don't think crowds are supposed to awful on any of those days. The only thing is Disneyland might get more crowded when everyone who isn't attending OBB has to leave DCA. But if you think you aren't staying late anyway it might not make much of a difference.

So just FYI, you are not likely going to be able to add a hopper the same day because it will likely be sold out. This is especially true for Halloween but I guess there is a possibility you could potentially do this 11/1 or 11/2.

But if you’re getting a 2-day ticket and you even remotely think you might want to hop, add it on the first day (or when you purchase your tickets). It’s the same price regardless of if you add it and use it for both days or just one day.

If you definitely want to hop, get the hopper now and make your reservation. I do not suggest a hopper on Halloween unless you plan to start in DCA and hop to DL later due to the OBB party and early closure.

For ticket purchases, both Parks are coming up as available park pass reservations on Halloween and day after.

if they are full or at capacity, do you mean they cut off park hopping?

We're coming from a time zone +2 hours so late nights are out for us. We will Likely call it a day around 5-6pm California time

With such a short time in the park I would probably just focus on Disneyland and not even worry about park hopping.

Ticket availability can and does sell out. Right now Oct 13 and 20 are sold out. If you have single park reservations for a certain day but park hopper ticket reservations are sold out by the time you arrive you cannot add a park hopper.

I went to Disneyland in September and first thing in the morning they had signs out that there were no more reservations of any kind left for the day so it definitely happens.

We go at least once a week (on weekends) and those signs have been out for the past 3 weeks.

The only time I've heard of them turning away park hoppers from hopping to the other park is when we were there the first day of the return of the electric parade. People started reserving spots on the parade route in the morning. By mid afternoon, it was difficult to walk around the park. I believe they kept hopping guest from coming into the park until after the first parade cleared out.

Oh, I think I see what you mean .

If dca is sold out for the day, even with ph , they're not letting anyone in.

Makes sense.

If you already had a park hopper ticket reservation for that day you can hop back and forth freely after 11am. But if you had single-park ticket and it was now full they won't let you upgrade to add on a park hopper.

Do you think the week after Halloween is better in terms of lower crowds?

If we don't go Halloween ish time, the next opportunity would be weekdays the last week of February

Is the haunted mansion holiday just a Halloween thing or is it a Christmas thing too?
