Best day to visit US during Halloween week?

After many trips to WDW, we have finally decided to visit US, with the main goal of visiting all things Harry Potter. DH would prefer to just stay on Disney property the whole time, so is definitely not willing to spend more than one day at US. We are DVC members, and have no interest in staying on property at US. However, we know that we'll need a park to park ticket, are willing to get there early, and are also considering doing the front of the line pass.

We have zero interest in attending a Halloween Horror Night, and are wondering which day of Halloween week would be smartest to visit US. We'll actually be in Orlando from October 22 to the 31st. Am I right that a HHN will take place every day of the week except Monday and Tuesday? So is it usually lower daytime attendance on the non-HHN days, or just the opposite?

Especially looking at Monday October 26th or Tuesday October 27th as the leading contenders for our trip to US. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looking at the historic crowd calendar on Touring Plans, HHN doesn't have a big impact on daytime attendance until later in the afternoon as people arrive to "stay and scream". The biggest advantage of going Monday or Tuesday is US should be open later. Given the time of your, I wouldn't buy Express Passes in advance. I would wait until I get there and decide if the crowds warranted it.

when the october calendar for park hours are released, you can plan better if you want to stay until closing.


i looked at the 2014 october park hours and last year for the monday date closing was at 6 for ioa and 7 for the studios.
the tuesday at both parks, closing was at 7pm
