Best day to have moving sale? Friday or Saturday?

We are moving to Florida and have to have a sale this weekend.

Is Friday or Saturday a better day to have a sale?

Many of the people I've talked to say Friday but what about people who work all day? I don't want to do a 2 day sale.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I had it all set for Saturday and then I called LSJ to put my add in and she said most of the ads were for Friday so now I'm totally confused.

Yup, we're moving to Florida. DH got a transfer to Vero Beach and we can't wait!

we are going to try and have a moving sale for some other folks that moved and left their stuff tyhis weekend weather permiting. goingto try and do fri- sat but saturday only would be my choice if was a one day deal.

I just got a house with lots more room so I can now garage sale again but it drives me crazy that most of the sales are on Friday from 9-3. That lets me out completely because I'm at work.

Well, if you have it Saturday, I'll hit the East Lansing sales.

Hope you have a good move. I've decided I'm NEVER leaving this house--they'll have to take me straight to the nursing home from here. Although, Florida might be pretty tempting--I'd love to get away from the snow!

Sounds like everyone does friday there. That is pretty much unheard of here with everyone working, a few have friday only in the summer though. If you do have it on sat. then everyone who gets paid on friday can come to your sale, cash in hand. Good luck.

How about a half day on Friday and another half on Saturday.
You could do the later half on Friday, say 3-6 this way people could get you on their way home from work. Saturday you could do 9-12. This way you may have more success! Good Luck

I'd go with with saturday and place a big ad in the paper. A moving sale is a bigger draw than a regular garage sale. Lots of students looking for stuff now. Good luck.

BTW, do you have a computer desk you're selling? DS doesn't want to haul his to Mi.

Heck yes I have a computer desk. I bought it last year. It is metal and glass. It has a desk and a corner attachment and another desk. It is really nice. DH took 1/2 of it and put it in the bedroom for his computer.

I'll try and find a picture of it.

It's kind of like this but the legs aren't as round as the model in the picture.

Sorry the link didn't work.

It's actually 3 peices, you can use it as 2 seperate desks. It's glass and metal. It has the keyboard tray that slides out and it also has a rolling file thing.
