Is there a better day of the week to purchase airline tickets? I've been checking some flights lately and over the past 3 days - the prices have changed like every day (Spirit Airline). So I was wondering if there was a "better" day when the rates were genuinely lower?

The best day of the week to purchase airline tickets is the day you have enough cash to pay for the tickets you want and need. :rotfl2:

I WAS TOLD THERE ARE ALWAYS ONE OR TWO CHEAP SEATS EARLY IN THE MORNING HERE IS THE POST FOR DELTA

I believe that Delta allocates a limited number of low priced seats each day. If booking online, try early and start with 1 reservation and work your way up until you see the price change. Meaning, if there are 4 of you flying don't put 4 in right away because it will lock you into the higher price! Try 1, then 2 etc. If the price changes after 2, then make the reservation for 2 and try again the next day, etc. for the other passengers. It sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't and the delta.com site is easy to navigate.

I was a travel agent for 8 years and there really is no better day or time of day to purchase tickets. Specials come out at all times morning, noon and night. From what I have noticed with Southwest is they usually put their deals out in the morning about 90 % of the time but they do not pull them, they usually keep the deal out until those seats are sold. Fares can change many, many times a day within minutes. There is absolutely no pattern to it.
I also agree with the booking tickets 2 at a time, don't book all 4 at once.
