Best day of week for MK?

What is the best day of the week to go to Magic Kingdom, in late September?

A few things that may affect your opinion:
I will be staying at the All-Star Sports.
I will be there with a toddler.

Hi,

do not go on EMH day. We stayed at the Poly 2 weeks ago and decided to "take advantage" of EMH - it was packed and therefore we didn't get much extra done anyway. I know Thursday is one EMH for the MK, but I can't remember the other one.

If we do EMH we usually just go until the crowds start to get thick and then go to another park. We are doing this in October. We plan to go straight to Fantasyland and do the rides there.

Otherwise I would go the day after EMH. Supposedly the crowds are not as bad as other days.

I never go on Satuday's except to see Spectromagic at night if that is the only time it is showing.

It sounds like the best bet is to do EMH(EE) for about an hour or two, then head to a different park.

Saturday might be a good day to take a day off from the parks.

But Saturday is the only day they are showing Spectro during the slow season (Aug/Sept.), just an FYI.

Not totally true. Spectro is on Wed. Sept. 9th, that's when we are going. And I also saw it on Sept. 14th, a Tuesday.

Edited to add: I'm checking on WDW website, and I see all kind of days throughout Aug. and Sept. that will have Spectro.

Late Sept. says, Tues. Sept. 21st and Tues. Sept. 28th. Hope that helps.

I could be totally off here, but I would think Thursday would be better because of locals coming in on the weekend. ( I should have paid better attention all of the times we were there multiple times in one trip. )

I agree. Any weekday will be better than the weekend. Being a FL resident, I can tell you.. sometimes the only time we can go is the weekend.. so I'm sure a lot of people who work M-F or have kids who go to school M-F.. will be in the same boat. Good luck!

Been reading the "Unofficial Guide" and it says the same thing, don't go on weekends in September. I'll be going on Tuesday, the 21st(spectro), as well as part of the day on Friday, the 24th.

EMH for Magic Kingdom is Sundays and Thursdays... I also found out that when I went to MK on a Tuesday this past Janaury, it was packed!!! ( this was right after the horrid Martin Luther King weekend) I thought that it would be dead there and I was planning a great day at MK ......I was wrong. I read once I got home that many locals will go to MK on the weekday that Specto is showing instead of Saturday. Saturdays are always packed at MK. I would pick a non EMH and non Spectro day for MK, and just hop over from another park to see Spectro on Saturday or when ever its being shown.

We've always found Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to be the least crowded. Weekends can be pretty mobbed.

spectro dates for value season are tues 8/31; sat 9/4; sun 9/5; wed 9/8; tues 9/14; sat 9/18; tues 9/21; sat 9/25; tues 9/28...

my "advice" would be to avoid the park on these days, unless you want to see spectro, then come back to the park in the evening just for spectro... also, i have read that the day after early entry is the best day to do a particular park 'cause rarely do people do the same park twice in a row... for us, we're going to avoid MK on ee days, but hit the other parks (AK, MGM) on ee days just 'cause that's what works w/our itinerary... hopefully it won't be too bad!

Avoid Saturdays. The slowest day at MK the last 2 weeks of Sept. is 9/22; then 9/29; then 9/23 & 30 (same both days).

I'm sorry what I meant was the only days I could see Spectro because I'm there from 9/1 to 9/5, only day they are giving it is 9/4. My bad!
