What is the best day of the week to visit WWOHP? Are any days of the week busier then others?

Thanks!:wizard:

IMO for a generic week, the best days to go, in no particular order, are Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Avoid Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays if at all possible.

May 5th-13th, 2012. Yeah I plan a bit in advance... The only days we can not do it is Wed and Thurs the 9th/10th. Thanks for any advice! We only have one day so we want to make it count!! I'm thinking Tuesday...

I'm glad I read this, I would think avoid Sunday and go on Monday. I wonder what makes Mondays busier.

I think my logic still holds for your dates. I recommend Sunday the 6th or Tuesday the 8th. Easter and spring break are over, and summer hasn't started yet. Well ahead of Memorial Day too. Should be a nice time to go!

Let Metro chime in again, but I totally agree with you--this is counter-intuitive. The out-of-towners tend to fly on Sundays and hit the parks the next day. That's what I've heard anyway, I'm a semi-local and don't have to worry about flying.

Until something changes, I would go along with that thinking.

Surely a week-day would be better.. whilst a lot of guidebooks suggest Sunday as a good day, common sense overrides in this case. The weekends are going to busy due to locals, people coming down for weekend stays. Sure, studies of longer trips might show that Sunday is a good day but I would definitely go with Tuesday :thumbsup2 I've heard Tuesday is good for IOA and Thursdays are good for the studios.

I agree Tuesday is probably going to be better than Sunday, but not significantly so. You'd be surprised how quiet Sundays can be too. I've not learned this from any study or guidebook, but from numerous reports on here and last but not least, my OWN EYES.

i always find that tues, wed, thurs are great days in the parks.

usually less crowds for the most part.

with the parry hotter section, most past information in books for touring UO, have changed.

with time, that could be different.

I'm so jealous!! I would love to live in Florida.

Our experience has Sundays as the least busy. Early entry on a Sunday morning was really quiet.

I was just wondering the same thing when I stumbled on this post. For those of you that have said Sundays are a great day to visit, would you recommend this for both IOA and universal? This might really help with my plan. I'm going in late january.

Thanks,
Debbie

I'm curious about this for summer, too, August 12-19. I was thinking Monday, so I'm glad I saw this thread.

I think it's a good rule of thumb for both parks in the offseason. I think the benefit is greater though at WWoHP (at IoA), since the area is relatively small. For late January though, I think crowds will be manageable no matter what day of the week you go.

You probably saw this coming if you read my above, but I don't think in your case it will matter much. Crowds are just too heavy in the summer all days of the week. For your specific dates, I would advocate going as late as you can and hope the summer crowds levels fall enough during that week to make a difference, however small it may be.

Have fun--both of you!
