We are still trying to make up our minds on trip insurance. We are traveling with DD's 4 & 8 on a 7 day Western Cruise in Jan. I know there are many opinions of whether to insure or not insure. But for those who have, did you go through DCL or an outside company?

Try insuremytrip.com....you can comparison shop through the site. I found insurance through DCL to be more expensive. It's always good to shop around and to be better safe than sorry...anything can happen to disrupt a trip.

To me the coverage for medical evacuation is important, as that could be more than the cost of the cruise. We bought our insurance from CSA, found it on Insuremytrip.com. Hopefully it won't ever be utilized.

We also bought CSA through insuremytrip.com! Way! Way! cheaper than DCL! Hope we don't need it but you never know!

Yes, you can get your insurance for land/sea (and pretty much any kind of vacation) through insuremytrip.com. Check out worldtravelcenter.com as well. I used that site to purchase ours. As others have said, we saved alot of money as oppossed to getting it through DCL. One of the carriers, Travelex, provides coverage to minors for free. That in itself saved me a $100 or so.

There are many reputable insurance cos, but the most important thing is to buy the insurance, esp. traveling with kids. Can you imagine if one of them came down with a simple ear infection and your pediatrician told you not to fly and you lost thousands & thousands of dollars? Yikes!
