For years I've had a Shell MC that gave me 5% cash back, in the form of a statement credit every month, on gas purchased at Shell gas stations and 1% cash back on everything else. If gas is $3.60 a gallon it's an automatic .18 off each gallon.
I haven't seen this card offered for years, but I've had it for some time and was grandfathered with the 5% offer.
However, I received a letter today informing me they are discontinuing this offer and going forward I'll get .10 off a gallon IF you spend significant $$$ at other locations each month.
I carry another card that gives me 2% cash back on everything with no fine print or spending thresholds so that's the card I use for everything else, but I'd really like to find a card offering a good rebate on gas. Any suggestions?
