Hi! I'm new(ish) here. I've been lurking for about a month, taking in all that I can before my boyfriend and myself head to WDW on the 8th of September!

Anyhow, by chance the dates we were planning to vacation fell during free dining and we've got the quick service dining plan for the both of us from the 8th to the 16th. I'm super excited to have this semi all inclusive style experience at Disney!

Anyway, I've been looking and looking for the best counter service options. So far I've narrowed it down to trying to visit each of these places:

Downtown Disney:
Wolfgang Puck Express
Cooke’s of Dublin
Earl of Sandwich

Magic Kingdom:
Cosmic Ray’s
Snacks- Mainstreet Bakery

Epcot:
Yakitori House
Sunshine Season’s
Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe
Snacks-Fountainview Cafe, Boulangerie Patisserie

Hollywood Studios:
Starring Rolls Cafe(snacks and meals)

Animal Kingdom:
Flame Tree Barbecue
Yak and Yeti

I was just wondering if there are any particularly awesome counter service options that I've missed? We are staying at Pop Century and sadly won't be likely to visit a different resort just for counter service, so things like Pepper Market are probably out.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice that may come of this! I'll just stand over here in the corner being waaaaaay super excited to leave in 6 days! :dance3:

I think Yakitori House is closed for rehab during your dates. Another good CS choice at Epcot is the Tangerine Cafe (CS in Morocco). Delicious, exotic food and a lot of it.

In the Magic Kingdom, we really like the Columbia Harbor House (across from the Haunted Mansion). My family likes the fried shrimp and chicken nuggets. I'm very partial to the tuna sandwich--that may not sound exciting, but it's really tasty. We all like the apple pie thing for dessert. And Pecos Bill is not terrible; it has a great toppings bar that includes sauteed mushrooms.

Haven't found anything great in the Studios, but find Pizza Planet tolerable. It's Disney pizza (meh), but I like the side salad and the Mickey head rice krispie treat for dessert.

Both Flame Tree and Y&Y are outdoors and feature lots of "beggars." We avoid both of those AK places because of my bird phobia. I prefer eating indoors in the A/C at Pizzafari and really enjoy their hot Italian sandwich. There's also an antipasto salad on the menu now that I've seen good reviews for. Restaurantosaurus (sp?) is also indoors and has a nice toppings bar like the ones at Pecos Bill and Cosmic Ray's.

We really like the food in Pop's food court. There is the famous tie-dyed cheesecake, but our favorite thing is the chicken cutlets in the pizza station. The breading on them contains mostly parmesan cheese and is very tasty. The veggie calzone there is also very good. You'll love the ice cream counter. Tell the cashier what ice cream you want, and he/she will stamp your receipt so you can go back and get it fresh after you eat your food.

Have a nice trip. :) Free dining is lots of fun!

We just stayed at POP. We ate there a lot. I never had the same thing twice. At least, the entree.

My favorites are-

MK- Cosmic Rays, and tried Casey last year and it was pretty good
EP- Sunshine Seasons and La Cantina de San Angel
DHS- Pizza Planet or ABC Commissary (not in love with these though)
AK- Flame Tree BBQ
DTD- Earl of Sandwich

Loved Starring Rolls at DHS. I know that you said you won't be at any resorts but in the off chance you end up at AKL, I really enjoyed the chicken pita at The Mara. Have a great trip.
