In searching for reviews of food at DL & DCA its pretty discouraging! Just about everywhere I read the food is bad (impossible to find a good hamburger, etc.) and the prices sound like they are higher than WDW.

Any places that are particularly good but somewhat reasonable prices for what you get?

Thanks!

At DCA we like Taste Pilots Grill. The hamburgers are good, and they also have chicken sandwiches and ribs. Choice of french fries, chili fries or onion rings. The theming is also fun. If all of DCA was like Condor Flats, it might have made it without all the changes and discounting.

At DL, we like the Country Bear Restaurant. (Is it still called that?) It's over by the new Pooh Ride and is now usually open. They offer about the same fare as Taste Pilots, including Apple Pie Bites and Funnel Cakes.

Bon appetit!

Roy

P.S. The Taste Pilots Grill also gives you an AP discount.

We like Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland at DL. They have great salads (love the pizza salad) and are pretty reasonable for Disney pricing.

At DCA Taste Pilot's is good for burgers, which I don't eat. Pacific Wharf Cafe has decent soup and salads.

I would agree with Redd Rockett's Pizza Port having good food for a decent price (by Disney standards). We like the Caesar salad and pasta dishes, and the portions are large enough that my wife, daughter (10) and I can share 2 entrees and be quite full. They also serve pizza by the slice or whole.

I also like Redd Rockets, but get the child's portion of spaghetti with a giant meatball and a breadstick, I think it is like 5.50? I had the fried chicken sandwich at Country Bears and it was pretty good, too. Lunch at Country BEar is a good way spend your time while waiting for your Pooh Ride Fastpass.

Another tip, you can order your burgers etc. without fries, and knock off a buck or so from the 'meal price'. I get my son the mousekemeal, then get mine without fries and share his.

Have a great vacation!

the restaurant by the Pooh ride is the Hungry Bear. I agree it has very good food and good prices. It is not always open however, so you may make the walk for nothing. It was closed early yesterday (monday, 26th).

I also really like Taste Pilots Grill in DCA and the Corn Dog Cart in DL on Main Street has the biggest best handdipped corndogs found anywhere! Carnation on Main Street in DL also has great breakfasts and their soup/sandwich meals are very tasty and fairly priced.

Rancho Del Zocalla in Frontierland has very good BBQ and Mexican Food and free refills on drinks!

I hope you will listen to us regulars and believe you can find VERY GOOD FOOD AND GOOD PRICES AT DL AND DCA!!!!!!

Thank you!! I'm making notes of all these places. Keep 'em coming!

I liked River Belle Terrace in DL for breakfast. There wasn't a big choice on the menu, but what they had was good, and the portions were a good size for the price, IMO.

i ate there two weekends ago and never again--the food was cold and the lines were long. i will stick with carnation where i can sit down, be waited on and get as many drink refills as i want-plus ask for a drink to go before you leave. also, the only place you can get YUMMMY MICKEY WAFFLES!

the food was cold and the lines were long.

That's really a shame. We had exactly the opposite experience. Short lines and the food was made while we were in line so it was hot and fresh. Found a table right away and even had two birds actually land on our table and eat crumbs we tossed them. I doubt Walt could have scripted it better. One thing I have noticed about dining at Disney is the inconsistency of many locations. Places people have said to avoid, I have had great experiences at and vise-versa.

At Disneyland, Bengal Barbeque has some decent skewers, including a bacon wrapped asparagus one. We also like the bbq chicken salad or tuna sandwich with fruit at Hungry Bear. At DCA, the sourdough bowls with a shrimp louie salad, or a chicken salad are very good, and a much better deal than the soup bowls (which have very small portions). This is at Pacific Wharf Cafe. The teriyaki bowls at Lucky Fortune Cookery are also good. We stay away from Taste Pilot Grill- very greasy and pricey. Probably the best food is at White Water Snacks inside the Grand Californian. This is similar to Roaring Forks at the WL, and is very easy to get to from DCA- just use the private entrance.

At Downtown Disney, Ralph Brennan's has a take-out cafe and Naples also has a take out window for pizza.

Overall, I think WDW has better food.

Another vote for DCA's Taste Pilot's Grill. A really, really good burger joint. The kids meals have potatoes pressed into the shape of smily faces. My daughter loves it! :)

Can "normal folk" use the private entrance to GC (to get to Whitewater Snacks)? Where in DCA is this entrance?

What kind of food do they have at White Water Snacks and is it fast food? Thanks!

Yes, anyone go into GC and enjoy the beautiful grounds, the fireplace in the lobby and WHITEWATER SNACKS! This is a little hidden jewel-a great place to get food at good prices.

You enter GC via a large iron gate half way through DTD. It will be on your left if you are coming from DL-directly across from Hagen Daz ice cream parlor (yummy). Go through the gates, turn to your right to enter the hotel. When you get to the lobby area, turn left, go outside and the White Water snacks is in the back right hand corner across from the pool. It is worth the walk!

they serve hot food, sandwiches, fruit, deserts, drinks--tons of stuff!

If you are going to Whitewater Snacks, you have to try the Pizza Dog....Really good! :D

Yes, you can enter from Downtown Disney, or from inside DCA right across from Grizzly Rapids

Similar to the fast food areas at WDW deluxe resorts. Burgers, sandwiches, chicken strips, salads, fruit plates, nightly specials- try the beef tacos. Prices are better here and the food is much better than the fast food places in the parks. You also get free refills on soft drinks.
