What are your favorite choices for staying with a 2 and 4 yr old?

This is a mini "Intro" trip in Feb (prob 10-13) and my priorities are proximity to bus stop & pool, type of pool, comfort and value (bang for the buck! LOL)

I would choose POFQ but their pool will be closed. Speaking of POFQ ~ do they still have beignets? Do they have them at Riverside also?

Are the transportation problems getting BACK to Riverside as horrendous as mentioned?

Thanks for helping a clueless Mommy!

I would almost recommend POFQ even if the pool is closed. Your kids are little and POFQ is much more relaxing than POR. The bus service is much better at POFQ too...you can use the pool at POR if you want. Just my opinion!

Personally, I don't know if I would agree with the fact that FQ is more relaxing that POR, it is just that it is much more compact, thus, resulting in less walking relative to POR, which is a very spreadout resort. The theme and feel at POR and FQ are both very nice, peaceful, and relaxing retreats after a day at the park. With the ages of your children, I would say FQ, hands down, IF THE POOL WAS WORKING. However, the large advantge FQ has over POR is the convenience, which, IMO, will be quickly lost if you have to trek down to POR every time your kids want to use the pool.

Personally, we LOVED everything about POR. But, it is VERY spreadout, depending on the location you get and you can't request Pref. location  (a gripe I have).

So, after staying at POR and LOVING it but getting an idea of how long the walk to and from Main Pool, Food Courts, and Busses can be, I wouldn't stay there w/a 2 & 4 yo.

I would recommend looking into a Pref. Room at POP or Music. I think your kids would love the theme of POP at their age, with all of the big icons. But, if you want a bit of a calmer resort, you could go w/Music. Thus, you can get a pref. location, so, you'll be close and convenient, and, you'll have a working pool.

Also, just saw your comment on type of pool, at POP, they have this Goofy fountain, which a 2 & 4 yo would just love to dance and play around in!

Like I said, if the pool was working, FQ all the way, but, I'd want a working pool w/a 2 & 4 yo.

HTH.

When our kids were that age we stayed at a villa at OKW. We loved staying at the villas with young kids. You could stock the fridge with some healthy foods/snacks that you know the kids will eat. We didn't really worry about what they ate, or didn't at the parks because we knew that they were getting healthy food at the room. The pool area was nice, but at the time didn't have a slide. They have since added one. We stayed at OKW twice and both times were fantastic. We have since stayed twice at BCV and I would rate the rooms lower than OKW (they are a bit smaller) but the BCV gets much higher marks for pool and location. There is a very easy walk into Epcot and a bot ride or walk to MGM. We never really had a problem with the busses at BCV, but some people report horrible waits. Both times we were at BCV was Easter week and like I said, no bus problems. Sometimes to get to the MK or from the MK back to the resort we would take the monorail to the front of Epcot and then walk through Epcot to get back to the hotel. Our kids love to ride the monorail though, and DH and I love Epcot, so that route is no hardship for any of us. We also like to take our time in Disney and don't feel like we are wasting time even though that is a longer route to get back to the hotel.

I also can't tell you how much we loved having the washer and dryer in the villa. We were able to pack lighter, wash clothes that the kids spilled stuff on and came home with clean clothes, which is a perk that is priceless!

Our upcoming trip in January will be our first trip in awhile that is not in a villa, and I am already feeling a little sad about that, but we wanted to try some different resorts.
