I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Wilderness Lodge child care for an evening out with spouse....do you have to be staying there.....also, I would be willing to hear about any other favorable/unfavorable childcare services.....this needs to be outside the hotel room, not in-room care.....I have 2 very outgoing kids who will love anything that the childcare has to offer.....thanks!!!

Not sure how much I can help you but...

Never used the WL child care, but on our first trip in '97, the kids (9, 7, and 4) went to the Beach Club child care. They LOVED it, and requested that we go out again without them on our next trip, in '99. :D We did. :D I'm sure they would love any WDW program.

My DD is now 13 (in 18 days, but who's counting  ), so we plan to use the in-room service because she's too old for the other child care. We'll be staying at the BWV, so hopefully we can get someone who will take them out to the BW for a little while.

I don't think you have to be staying at a resort to use their child care services, but I think they might give priority to that resort's guests.
