Best (cheapest) place to buy the full hardback book set of Harry Potter?

I've seen it on Walmart and Overstock.com (if my 10% off code had applied, I would have probably bought it there, but it didn't).

I like the ones in the trunk but am willing to consider something else if the price is great.

As I said, I would rather have the hardback editions.

Do you get Borders email coupons? They are usually at least 33% off and sometimes 40% off regular price items. Usually I can get some good deals that way

I've managed to find books 1 & 7 in hardcover for only a buck or so a piece. Look on Ebay.

After you find the books, then you can look for the empty box. People still sell those kinds of things for cheap.

I do want new since it's for a gift. Right now, I can buy it off the Scholastic site for under $100 with a 15% off code. That may be my best bet.

FWIW, the Scholastic set is very nice, high quality books in a heavy cardboard case. And check the amazon reviews of the 'trunk' regarding the quality of that case; there were reports on there that it fell apart easily. YMMV....

I've actually been doing just that. Boy, it really gets bad reviews, doesn't it? Apparently, it "looks" a lot nicer than it is in reality. I'm leaning towards the Scholastic set though because I would like hard cover copies. I've also got several I'm watching on ebay as well.

Ooooo, now you're talking my language. I will make SURE that I hit their sale this year (I talked myself out of it last year since it was cold). I've also got their coupon that you get for signing up early. This might work out well, and if it doesn't, there's always Scholastic or ebay for a backup!
