Best character meal

We are taking our DS 3 to disneyland for the first time in May and we are wanting to do a character meal. What do you recommend as the best experience. We are thinking we want to do a buffet. Probably not Ariel's because DS is not really in to Princesses . Which has the best food and which has better character interaction? Which characters do you usually see, etc..?

Breakfast with Minnie and Friend at the Plaza Inn, inside Disneyland Park.

Minnie, The others can vary Chip, Dale, Pluto, Eeyore, Hook, all of which are commonly there and also Pinnochio, Geppeto, Fairy Godmother were there on one of my visits

Breakfast with Minnie or GOofy's kitchen for dinner.. depending on what you want we liked both and both had tons of characters.

It really depends on which characters, if any, she is already exposed to at home or shows affection towards. We have done a bunch of them and have really enjoyed the interaction at all of them. It really seems to be more of a question of time of day which affects how much interaction you get, based on how busy each location is, but even at someplace like Goofy's Kitchen which is always crowded, you get good interaction time.

Inside the park is Minnie and Friends breakfast like pp's have said. We went last month and were very happy with the number of characters we saw. And I thought the food was great. We saw chip, dale, pooh, fairy godmother, eeyore, captain hook, rafiki and a penguin.

Outside the park I'd recommened Goofy's Kitchen inside the Disneyland Hotel. Thats our traditional dinner now the night we arrive in Anaheim since we dont go to the parks our first day. We usually see 6-7 characters I think. Its usulaly 1 princess, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip or Dale and sometimes one other character.

Not sure how many days you are going for or what time of day you will arriving, but one advantage to Goofy's Kitchen is that is does not require entry into the park. If you are arriving in the afternoon, you can stroll through DTD and explore the Disneyland hotel, then have a character dinner, and your child will feel like his Disney vacation has started even though you have not set foot inside the parks!

We loved Goofy's Kitchen! The kids had the food they like so $ is not wasted. Hotdogs, Spaghetti, Pizza, Fruits. Mommy and Daddy had roast pork, sirloin steak, corn on the cob. This was the only character meal that I felt wasn't a complete rip-off of our $ in terms of food

Characters were an added perk! We got Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Minnie, Fairy God mother and Snow White.

Good ideas. I like the idea of going to Goofy's kitchen the first night. We will get there in the early evening. So DTD then dinner at Goofy's would be an awesome way to start the magic!

We did every character meal, except Goofy's, when we were there in Oct. For character interaction Minnie's Breakfast was our favorite! (food wise, we liked Ariel's Grotto best) Anyway- we saw Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Bert, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook- I think that was all. The interaction was great. I have heard great things about Goofy's, too- that is on the top of our list to try next time

We loved Goofy's Kitchen. We got there a bit early and the girls had a great opportunity for pictures with Goofy in the little car in the lobby. The family picture included with the meal was also terrific. The food was great, both for kids and grownups. My 16 year old still talks about the peanut butter and jelly pizza. The characters were lovely: Pluto, Chip and Dale, Goofy, the princesses etc. We all had great fun, 30-something me, my parents in their late 60s and my two daughters, the oldest was 14 and the youngest 12 at the time. It is buffet style, so we had a little bit of everything, I remember the soups were just amazing. I can't wait for our next trip to DLR probably next year.
