hi. which character dinners (or other fun dinners) are the best? also is the dining plan worth it? we will have a 1 yr old, 4 yr old and 6 yr old when we visit..thanks!

Boys? Girls?

I think the Dining Plan is worth it, but it does depend on where you plan to eat. Take a look at allearsnet.com- they have the menus and prices of all the Disney restaurants. Figure out where you want to go and then crunch the numbers.

We went two years ago with a 19 yr old (girl), 10 yr old (boy), and two 5 yr olds (boys). We ate at Crystal Palace for lunch (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet), Cinderellas Castle (Cinderella sprinkled pixie dust on the little boys), and at The Garden Grill at Epcot (goofy, chip/dale, pluto). They loved all three. We are going back in a few weeks and when I asked the little boys (now 7), where they wanted to eat again, their first reply was Cinderellas castle, then the Garden Grill was next. There is alot to look at in both places they recalled, so they were both good choices for small/active children.

The other favorite was the sci-fi dinner theatre. I've seen several reviews that they didn't like the food, I thought it was great.

The dining plan was well worth it for us. I stopped counting up the receipts after we were over$1,100 in food for 5 of us.

We did Garden Grill, lunch, good family style food, great character interaction

Crsytal Palace, lunch, buffet great food, good character interaction.

Chef Mickey breakfast, buffet, ok food, great character interaction

H&V Playhoosue Disney breakfast buffet, ok food, charcaters and staff were fun with singing and dancing

Hope this helps!

ETA Dining Plan was well worth it to do these charcater meals. It was a lot of food though!

I've only done Crystal Palace for lunch, but it was great. I was really impressed with the food (tons to choose from and very tasty). By the time we'd finished our dessert, we'd seen all of the characters. We all really enjoyed it.

We are going in Sept. with almost identical age groupings (all girls) and all of our TS are character meals. This way its not just a meal...its also a form of entertainment. DH and I are hoping that our DDs will be so enthralled with the characters that we have a hope of eating some of our meal.

We have ADR's for CRT, Akerhaus (yes, 2 princess meals), Hollywood and Vine, and Chef Mickey's.

LTT. Really good "home" style food, and great character interaction.
