Can anyone tell me what they think is the best character dining for a 6 year old girl?

I guess it depends on what/who she likes.

I can't help you if she is into princesses as our family has a 6 yr old boy.

I can tell you that we went to Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and thought it was great.
The food was very good, and so was the character interaction. Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy all came to each table to sign autographs and take pictures.

Goofy stayed and led the kids in a dance around the room and they all loved it.

Another perk was that we were right by the Safari so as we left the restaurant we were right before park opening and were able to get onto the first Safari jeep and had a great time!

We ended up cancelling a Chef Mickey breakfast for later that week because we had seen SO many charcaters already and were so satisfied with this one.

I'm sure others will weigh in, as there are so many character meals available.

For me, Chef Mickey's is too loud for that time of day ( not a morning person )

If she is into Lilo and Stitch I think there breakfast is a lot of fun for the kids. Lots of characters and activities.

This is by far our favorite character meal. I like the fact that we can sit and feel unrushed and easier to enjoy your meal when food is brought out to you. The service is also the best around and has been consistent every time we've been there- we do breakfast here on departure day every year and have been there 3 times.

I think the character interaction is wonderful too. The one year my kids were 2 and 4 and having trouble geting them to leave. Well Pluto saw we were having a hard time and gave us a helping hand and walked them hand in hand to the back of the restaurant. The tears were gone and the picture I got of the three of them is my favorite character picture ever!!

They also give out marracas and the kids parade around the room with Mickey, Lilo, and Pluto- they LOVE this!

Definitely worth the trip even if you are not staying here. HTH :thumbsup2

For a 6 year old girl, I can only tell you what my 3 girls love!

Akershus Princess at Epcot (lunch)
Ohana at the Polynesian (breakfast)
Crystal Palalce at the Magic Kingdom (both breakfast and dinner)
1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (both breakfast and dinner)
Cinderella's Royal Table (haven't done this yet but we are dying too!)

They loved all of these meals! Have fun planning!:goodvibes

If she is into the princesses then you could try either breakfast or dinner at Norway. The breakfast serves the usual breakfast fare, while dinner has traditional foods from Norway along with a cold bar that has salads, cold meats and cheeses.

The Grand Floridian has a great breakfast with Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, and I think maybe Mary Poppins, but I can't remember. The food was good.......if you do this be sure to try the chilled strawberry soup! For dinner they have Cinderella, Prince Charming, the evil stepsisters and stepmother. The food is more of a gourmet buffet with some traditional choices as well.

I just asked my soon-to-be six year old daughter to choose her favorite character meal from our recent trip. Her answer: breakfast at CRT. We really enjoy the food at this meal and the character interaction is good. The princesses don't linger at your table, but they do give individual attention to each "princess" at the table. (We had our three girls with us and the princesses spoke to each one). We had time for autographs and pictures with each princess. There is definitely something magical about eating inside the castle.

Although she didn't name it as her first choice, I know that my almost six-year-old really enjoyed the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. All of my girls love Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to see these characters. The food was really good too...not your typical breakfast buffet.

my daughter loves the princess breakfast at Akershus (Epcot) although we were not as thrilled with the food this past trip (Dec 08).

1900 Park Fare and Ohana are great breakfasts.

We stayed at a park until after midnight and missed our Donald breakfast at Animal Kingdom but I've heard it's wonderful.

Chef Mickey seemed really crowded to us and I think dinner there is better than breakfast.

My 5yr old DD likes the following:

Ohana Breakfast
1900 Park Fare Dinner
Chef Mickey's for Dinner
Garden Grill

We (DH, DS10 and DS) have done Garden Grill (lunch), Chef Mickeys (breakfast twice), Tusker House (breakfast), Mickeys Backyard BBQ (dinner) and O'Hana (breakfast). We absolutely loved them all and would do them all again in a heartbeat. The only issue we had was at O'Hana our servers seemed to be rushing us, and were not the friendliest people around. The character interaction and the food were stellar, though, so we will try this one again. We are planning a Grand Gathering for 2010 which will include my 6 year old niece and we were planning on including the Akershus breakfast so she can get her princess fix.

If she likes princesses then I would say Cinderella's Royal Table. If she likes the characters from the Hundred Acre Woods (Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eyeore), the Crystal Palace is great!:)

We enjoyed: Ohana's (breakfast), Chef Mickey's (dinner), and Crystal Palace (lunch or dinner).. Ohana had the best food and character interaction was equal at all 3 for us but we also have a 1yr old!! I too was a bit discouraged at the service at Ohana's..the waitress was rushing us and not really friendly.

My advice would be to do as many as you can fit in, and afford!!

They are absolutely priceless at that age. Your daughter will never forget whatever you choose to do. Enjoy them! (And have your autograph book ready!):cheer2:
