Hi,
I know it is merely a suggestion of preference of room location I have a question to try and maximize my chances of getting close to my request. It is in Kidani and we have made the request through Member Services already. Our flight arrives at 8:30am and we are hoping to be at AKL by 9:45 to 10am. We are hoping to get check before most rooms are ready and maybe be lucky enough to get a room near where we requested. However I am wondering about online check in. If people are doing online check in days prior to arrival will they have a jump on rooms before those who are physically there? This is our first DVC booking and still learning the ropes. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Like with other rooms, my understanding is that DVC or no, if you request early arrival, that requests overrides every other request in favor of first available room.

Keeping in mind that check-out is 11AM, and DVC aims at 90%+ occupancy, you're really asking for the first room they turn over in your booking category to ask for an early arrival.

If location is very important to you, do not request early arrival. You can drop bags at Bell Services and wander around or find a quiet corner for a nap.

If you placed a request through MS, then do not request anything on the online check-in requests. The online check-in requests override anything you may have made through MS.

If online check in requested direct to room, they will be locked into the room assigned. If you made a request via MS there is a possibility that the room originally assigned to you could be given to another guest when they are checking in and they ask for a different room. It's all up to the CM's and the resort policy which seems to be different at the different resorts.

Doubtful

Only once in all my stays was I able to check in before 3:00pm

Thanks for the replies. We are going to stick with our original MS request. When we arrive at the desk I will just confirm our wishes. We understand that we may not have a room before we leave for our ADR so we can wait for a room that fits if one is available. Def not doing the early arrival option I did hear that you never know what you will get with that. Hopefully the CM can find us something close to the pool area.

32 days!! :tigger:

We have stayed at three different Disney resorts and always made requests in the usual ways recommended but never got our requests - in fact ended up pretty much as far away as possible from our requests in each case! It always ended up fine though.

You can check in as early as 6 am. Get you room info sent to a cell phone or be given a number to call to check the ready status of the room. Bell services will hold you luggage, and food. If you need any food stored in cold or frozen areas, have those bagged separate and bell services will store them for you. Go to the parks, go swim... when the room is ready just call bell services and your 'stuff' will be delivered.
Have a great trip.
