Is it better to get at the airport or grab a taxi to Disney Resort and rent from there? Also have DVC so parking shouldn’t be an issue.

Need a vehicle for 3 weeks and wondering if Uber is cheaper option as wouldnt use it every day and would only really be travelling locally.

Thanks.

Monday night price surge w/ 3 hour delay to a 10:00 pm arrival.
One person just after midnight Uber to WDW surged to$75 plus tip!

We have always gotten a rental car because we take a day or 2 to see other area attractions. We use Alamo which we pick up at the airport and book online ahead of time as an Alamo Insider and do the prepay. It is so easy you just go to the rental car area on ground level and find the Alamo desk they are near the end you don’t have to wait in line just go to a kiosk to print papers out and then head outside to the garage they are on the bottom level and find the section with the size you selected and pick any car.

Having a rental car gives you more flexibility when going places such as shopping/eating/sight-seeing. Online taxi prices can fluctuate and you may have to wait during peak times for an available ride. Havin a rental car makes it more convenient to eat dinner away from Disney, which usually costs less.

Price is out. Airport rentals are generally more expensive – sometimes by a little bit and sometimes by a whole lot. For 3 weeks, the price of a taxi/Uber/whatever may end up saving you money. Airport rentals also come with regular taxes you would pay elsewhere plus airport concession fees & a separate airport facility charge.

Most companies will let you return to the MCO airport at no additional charge if you’re already renting from an off airport location in the Orlando area so you should only have to pay for taxi one-way.

For three weeks I'd be looking at taking a ride share or shuttle to your DVC and renting from the CCC. That will save you over $200 in not having to pay the airport concession fee because you didn't pick it up there. For short trips of a week or less it's usually not enough to make a big dent and I'd prefer to pick up at the airport but for that length I think it's worth the hassle.
