Best car rental agency from MCO to Port Canaveral and return?

This is our first Disney cruise. We will be flying into MCO on Friday for a Saturday sailing. We plan to rent a car for one day and drive to the coast, stay at the Radisson, drop car off the next day and take car rental shuttle to the pier. I have found decent and similar rates with Budget and National Car Rental. I am wondering which one might be more convenient. Any suggestions? We will also be arranging a one day rental on our return day to drive back to MCO for a one night stay near the airport.

Hi it's me again...I just asked the above question and then found a link on another thread to Dave's Disney Cruise site and it answered my exact question (Thanks Dave). I will take your advise and use Budget.

I just booked a one way rental for when we disembark the ship on Feb 14th.....$56.11 including all taxes for a Ford Explorer. I used the Mastercard promo listed at their website and booked online. Smaller cars were less money.


For the trip to the port I also booked with Budget but was unable to get a good rate from anybody...seems Feb 5 to the 10th are black out periods with a lot of rental places in Florida. We paid $133. including taxes for a Ford Explorer....pick up in Tampa on Feb 5th and drop off at the port on the 7th.

I rented from AVIS. I got a better rate there than Budget or any other agency I got an estimate for.

I just used Budget a couple of weeks ago, and we have always used Avis in the past. We were pleased with Budget, and it was cheaper than Avis. We will use Budget again in the future.

I basically went with Budget after reviewing Dave's info out on his site.

Hi canuk8156. I'm renting a car from MCO the same day as you. I just booked through a discount website called BreezeNet. I've used them before and always got a great rate and no problems picking up the car. I reserved a Taurus through Budget for $24 after tax. No one else came close to that. You might want to check it out.
