Can anyone recommend a good digital camera under $300?

I just can't stand the idea of going to Disney with my lousy camera that takes blurry pictures, and can hardly take anything inside.

I'm looking for something with a quick "trigger" - button.(sorry, I don't know the technical terms, good inside shots, etc.

I had the best little camera years ago and it took great video of the fireworks and pics at night. I'd like something like that, but unfortunately it broke and I bought an expensive one and it stinks. TIA

I just posted a thread about cameras. I am in the market for a new camera also. I have it narrowed down to 2 cameras: Sony DSC W290 or Fuji F72EXR. They both have quick "trigger" button, and good zooms. They both got good reviews on Amazon and Cnet. I can't decide which to get....

a specific recommendation. It has been a couple of years since I shopped for cameras. Pricesand features are very different now. One place I use as a reference is cnet.com. They will have their reviews as well as customer reviews for a lot of items. You can sort through the products by price, manufacturer, rating, etc.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'm going to look into both those suggestions and Cnet.

I always check www.dpreview.com as well.

I am going to buy a new camera tomorrow and I've decided on the Canon SX200IS. It is relatively small and has a great 12x optical zoom. It also takes hd video which will be great. I would have loved to have purchased the Panasonic ZS3 because it provides the optical zoom to be used during video recording but at $100 more I couldn't justify it to myself.

I am taking this new camera with me and leaving my DSLR at home since with a good all around zoom on it, it would be heavy and combersome.
