I'll be staying at POR and want a good standard room. I like the look of the Alligator rooms over the Magnolia rooms. So what is a good building? I've seen building 14 thrown out a couple of times. The best or any better? Second choice? Should I request a corner room?

Plus, I may have a stroller, so should I request 1st floor since there are no elevators?

We were thrilled with building 27. It's not too far from the food court (1 1/2 minutes according to my cell phone), not too far from the pool or bus stop and plenty far from the noise of the road and the parking lot. We had a car on that trip and really enjoyed the walk to the lot as it went between buildings, along beautifully landscaped paths and past a quiet pool (and wasn't more than 3 minutes even at the end of the day with a sleepy baby).

There are water view rooms to be had in 27, but we were just as happy in a standard. You can't really see much with the walkways in the way. I've heard that corner rooms 'feel' bigger with the extra window, but I can't say for sure.

Have a great trip!

This resort is so beautiful and we loved it! We had bldg. 36 which was a small hike to the food court but it was very near one of the quiet poold and laundry room. Another advantage was that parking was never a problem. The walk was maybe 5 minutes to the food court and it was so beautiful we didn't mind. That building was also in Alligator Bayou. I talked with a woman on the bus who said they always request that building or one of the ones near it because of the parking and the quietness. It was also pretty close to one of the bus stops. At first I was really bummed that we got such a far out building (that's what happens when you check in at midnight) and also wanted a Magnolia Bend room. Turns out we ended up loving the decor and location.

we stayed in building 14 5/14-5/21. The building was really close to everything. We were on the 2nd floor and I would reccomend this as it gives you a little more privacy. Also close to the quite pool if you want a quiet afternoon.

We stayed in bldg 16 on the first floor and it was nice and quiet and clean. We had a WONDERFUL Mousekeeper who made towel/stuffed animal arrangements every day she was there. It was close to walk to the main bldg and bus stop. It was actually about equally close to walk the path to there or cross the parking lot and street to the bus. We really enjoyed our stay there. When we were in our room (which wasn't too often) we didn't hear a peep from anyone else.

We were there in May in AB #1832. Great standard corner room adjacent to the quiet pool. I would recommend bldgs 14 - 18. My daughter was in AB #1828, waterview of quiet pool. Don't think it was worth the extra money for the waterview.

We just returned last night. We were in Bldg. 28. I thought it was a bit far from everything. I had requested bldg. 14, but it was full. Next time I'm staying at POFQ again! Everything just seemed so much closer and more convenient.

I agree with you, lucky978. I much prefer POFQ. Even though Bldg. 18 is lots closer than Bldg. 28, none of them are as convenient as POFQ. We could only get the postcard rate at POR so we stayed there instead of our favorite resort, POFQ.
