Trying to do a last minute trip to Disneyland and am on a budget I know about HOJO and CCI but I am looking for something a bit less. Does anyone have a recomendation for a BUDGET hotel for my family of four?

We've stayed at the Super 8 on Katella the past 2 years and it's been pretty good for a budget hotel. It's not my favorite hotel but seems to be pretty good for the price. I have to admit that my MIL payed so I'm not sure of the exact price but it was around $55/night i think. It's not the closest hotel but imo, it's still within walking distance. They have free parking and free breakfast. The breakfast isn't huge but they have 2 different types of cereal, juice, muffins and donuts. I bring my own cereal and use their milk, bowls and spoons. It's also right next to the gardenwalk which is nice if you want to go to any of the restaurants there. Hope that helps!

We love the Desert Inn & Suites (right across the street from the entrance on Harbor) for the great price and closeness to the parks. We have stayed there twice and had nothing but good experiences with them. We have gotten our rooms for $59 or $69 a night and that comes with free parking, free wifi internet and a free simple continental breakfast. We have two more trips scheduled with them this year.

For our upcoming trip I couldn't get as low a rate at the Desert Inn so I took a chance with a great price at the Anaheim Plaza ($50 per night, also on Harbor). The walk is a bit farther but from what I can tell it isn't that much farther (it looks pretty comparable to the distance from the gates to HoJos). There is no free wifi so we will have to pay for internet and no free breakfast, but I figured that for the $30 we're saving we could get a decent breakfast. It gets mixed reviews but our family is very easy-going and we can pretty much put up with anything because we are at Disneyland.

Stay far, far away from the Astoria Inn & Suites (America's Best) on Ball St.......comes up on the motel search engines & gives you a great deal....but there's a reason for that!! Very nasty!!

Any of the other motels along Harbor are all pretty equal. The Motel 6 really isn't bad....we've stayed there twice & have never been disappointed.

If you're not picky then I'd try Hotwire...and if you're able to put kids onto a pull out or floor (if you don't get a 2nd bed...but usually you can) then Priceline can be even cheaper if you name your own price. Start at $40 a night for a 3* and see what you get.

:)

We loved The Best Western Ananheim Inn. Very close. Great prices. Very clean. Didn't have to pay for parking.

We have done this and got the Doubletree last time. Am considering doing it again.

WE just got back from a week in the Ayres Inn. Booked it on getawaytoday.com. We payed 75 a night. It comes with free breakfast.

Did you use the shuttle? I am considering staying here for our upcoming trip but didn't know how big of a hassle the shuttle was, We will have 3 kids, 4 and under with us.

I've used Priceline and gotten 3 1/2 star hotels along Harbor for $40-$60 every time. Parking at these is around $10/day so figure that in.

Motel 6 on Disney Way is much nicer than most Motel 6's. It used to be a Red Roof. On peak weekends even that hotel can be pricey. In that case we stay at the Red Roof near Knotts or the Motel 6 on Katella in Stanton about 4 miles away from Disneyland. It's cheap and clean.

Anaheim Plaza Inn is usually under $60/nite. We have stayed there many times and its always been clean an comfortable. Last time we were there the carpet needed shampooed, but so did GCH's when we were there a few years back.

People on this site have had varied experiences with Castle Inn but I've stayed there twice and been pleased both times. With a room/ticket package from getawaytoday.com i think our rate came in between $40-$50/night.
