Best brands and fabric for shirts for transfers

Can anyone recommend the best brand of t-shirt to use with transfers? It also seems like there can be more than one t-shirt style within a brand. Glidan seemed to have several styles but i couldnt figure out the differences other than price. Any recommended sites to purchase from for great shirts at affordable prices. Can I only use shirts that are 100% cotton. Is 90% or 50% ok? I am eager to order my shirts and all help would be so appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have a Hobby Lobby close??? They have their shirts on sale all the time for 1.99 all sorts of colors...I have NOT checked them out....but will soon..as my trip is getting closer..

We ordered our shirts from Blank Apparel. They have super-fast shipping & good prices.

For DH, we ordered the regular adult Gilden brand.

For myself, we ordered the v-neck, fitted Bella brand.

For DD, we ordered the ladies' fitted Gilden brand - it's crew-neck & runs really small.

For older DS, we ordered the regular youth Gilden brand.

For younger DS, we ordered the Rabbit-Skin brand.

If you go to Blank Apparel, you can see all the different brands & styles they have. Hobby Lobby's t-shirts are nice, & we've used them previously. However, I like the ladies' t-shirts better at Blank Apparel.

I have always used a mixture of shirts from A.C.Moore and jiffyshirts.com DH is Pooh-sized so I have to get his on-line. You only need 100% cotton if you are going to tie-dye. Then it is a must. Otherwise, I haven't noticed that it really matters. We love the Gildan brand but I ordered some 2 weeks ago that were the Gildan women's cut and SoftStyle. The sizing was WAY too small! I ordered a 2X and it was even too small for my daughter who wears a small. But the Gildan Women's Ultra Cotton is a good fit.

And SUPER, SUPER fast shipping! I ordered them on a Tuesday night and they were delivered Wed. afternoon! Plus I had free shipping because I ordered over $65. This was not express shipping either. It always comes very quickly. (At least for me)

I always pre-wash before I put my transfers on too --but make sure you do not use fabric softener! And I dry on low then hang them up.
