Best Birthday Breakfast

We'll be going to WDW during Free Dining and my older boy will celebrate his seventh birthday on our first day there. I would like him to have an especially magical day. However, we are travelling from overseas and due to the long trip and the jet lag we won't be visiting a park that day.

Now I was thinking a nice breakfast might be a good idea. We are usually not breakfast people. However, we'll probably be up around 5am at the latest (because of the time difference) and by 9 or 10 we'll basically be ready for a big meal. There isn't much point in planning a special lunch/dinner on that day as the kids will likely be to tired to enjoy it.

Anyway, which places would you recommend? Personally, I think the food choices at Boma look best, but maybe Chef Mickey might be better for a birthday?

Chef Mickey's is a great idea for a birthday! If you tell them you are celebrating a birthday you'll get this birthday placemat that is "signed" by all of the characters that are there and they'll bring out a birthday cupcake.

Another great place for a birthday breakfast is Crystal Palace. If you choose CP I'd recommend going on a day when they don't have early morning magic hours and making your ADR for around 8am so that you can get into the Magic Kingdom before anyone else is there. It's such a great experience. The characters are great there too. We celebrated my DH's birthday last month and he got a signed card from the characters and also a birthday cupcake.

We're doing my ds's birthday breakfast at CP in May, I've never done a character meal before, and I KNEW he wouldn't want princesses, so Pooh it was LOL Plus I'm a HUGE Tigger fan!! Have fun with your choices, for me it depended on the park we were going to, so that was a make or break for me.
