Best bfast food...Tusker, CP or Akershus?

We didn't eat at Akershus, but between the other two I would definetly do Tusker House. The food was different but soooooo good. They had this white rice that had some flavor that I've never tasted, I dream about it!! And while they had things that would be on a normal buffet, they also had different food. I can't explain what, but it was GOOD, lol. In fact, it was one of my favorite meals of our whole trip. We ate both a breakfast and a lunch there. YUM!

Crystal Palace to us was very unremarkable and forgettable. I know some people who totally love it though.

We prefer CP. Their puffed french toast and vegetable fritatta are 2 items I look forward to from one trip to the next. It is a must for me!

Hands down Tusker House. No comparison in my opinion.....on character interactions and the food.

I have been to all and I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. I like the diversity of the foods at the AK Tusker House and liked the characters as well.

I like going to CP in MK when I plan to do an early day at MK, get in early for the breakfast then get to the rop in Fantasyland to wait for the rope drop :). We do not care fo rthe characters as much here.

We go to the Princess Breakfast in Norway every trip for DD and DH loves the chessy potatoes with breakfast.

Each of the above are different and overall great.

We have never eaten at Asherkus but have done breakfast twice at Tusker House and CP.
Last time I found TH really crazy. We were sitting at the back of the restaurant and had to walk through the chaos to get to the buffet. We were late being seated and the restaurant was super noisy (Cmas 2010). The big bonus to TH is it is a great option if you are spending the day at AK. The food is good.
CP is a beautiful restaurant and I found it a lot more peaceful (Dec. 24, 2010).
I would say the food is the same at both places - it just depends where you want to spend the day. We got some beautiful pics of MK as we were in early before the big crowds. I probably haven't helped you - I would say both restaurants offer an experience but CP has better ambience.

We have eaten at both Crystal Palace and Akerhaus for breakfast. We absolutley loved the food and character interaction at CP. Last year we tried Akerhaus with the Princesses for breakfast. The character interaction was fantastic but we did not like the food at all. We will not go back to Akerhaus.

We haven't done Akershus, so I can't comment on that one, but we really like both CP and TH. At the moment, I'd go for TH - I love the fact that they have chocolate crossaints, chocolate glazed and regular donuts, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mustard sauce that they serve with the ham. I actually put the sauce on the rice, and that was really delicious.

We just returned and did Cape May, Tusker House, and Akershus. We did CP for dinner and I was really not very impressed at all.... Of the 3 breakfasts we did, I thought the food was best at Tusker House, but Akershus was a close second. It really depends on the type of Character interaction you want, and if you attach a real value to the Princess picture you get at Akershus (ours was with Aurora, DD was a little sad because we expected to meet Belle and didn't). Daisy and Goofy did parades at Tusker House and the kids had shakers and it was really fun, and the food there was honestly so fresh and tasty. I really enjoy trying new and unique ethnic flavors and that Beef Bobbity or whatever it was at Tusker House was A-MAZ-ING. And they had ham sliced to order that was sooooo juicy and delicious.

Best thing at Akershus, hands down, are those cheesy potatoes. We actually asked for a plate of just potatoes and they brought us out a whole platter of them, :rotfl:

Edit: I think that if you are getting an early morning ADR at CP for early park entrance, it's worth it...otherwise, the entire CP experience, to me, was waaaaay over-rated. It was crowded, LOUD, and took FOREVER for the Characters to get around since there are basically 2 full size dining rooms in each wing of the CP and they go on a circuit.

The one thing I liked best about Akershus is that the majority of the breakfast was plated family style. I hate that with the Character Buffets the adults basically don't get to eat much because you can't leave the table for very long or you risk missing the characters. So the nice thing about Akershus was that we only really had to make one trip up for bagels, fruit, yogurt, etc, and then the hot food was brought to us and I didn't have to try to plan buffet runs between character timings.

Since the OP asked about the breakfast food (not the characters), I think you do not have a valid point regarding CP. I'm not trying to stir up anything, but the selections at breakfast and dinner are vastly different. :goodvibes

Fair enough. :) I haven't had breakfast at CP, OP, so I can't speak to the food, but as far as the overall experience goes, I feel that we had a much more relaxing and enjoyable experience at Tusker House and Akershus. Hope some of my info helps :).

My personal opinion is that Tusker House breakfast is the best character meal on property. Cape May is a close second.

Tusker house for sure! The variety and quality was outstanding plus you get the characters and if you get a 8am ADR, you might even get out by park opening and be the first of your favorite attraction!

I've done Akershus bfst, and it doesn't even compare to Tusker house.

We have eaten at all 3 and hands down Tusker House has the best breakfast food in my opinion . CP is 2nd and Aker. is a distant 3rd (although the potatoes are good).

Oh! I have to come back and agree with this, too....our ADR for TH was 8:05 and we were finished just after 9, but since we were already deep in the park, I sent my eldest with park tickets to run get FPs for the Safari right at 9 am and then let them run over to Everest and they walked right on twice in a row and then by the time they were done it was time for another set of FPs so they got FPs for Everest and then came back and we all did the Safari :). Worked out great. The Safari is VERY close to TH and Camp Minnie Mickey where the Lion King show is also pretty close.

And if we're talking food and food alone, the more I think about it, I'd say TH. The only buffet I've never done for BF is CP, but TH beats all the others, including the beloved Chef Mickey.

Tusker House!!

We can't wait to eat there again. Me, dh, dd6 and ds8 all loved it! There is soooo much to choose from and the characters are a lot of fun.

I too have eaten breakfast at all 3 and hands down Tusker House for the food and the character interaction is the best. This is a must do for my family every time we go to Disney and it is the only reservation that everyone in my family wants to make sure that we get. Can't wait to make our TH ressie for our trip in December!!! :woohoo:

We've done all three and we really like the food at Tuskar House. It has the standard breakfast fare as CP but also some other unique items as well. I really like the corned beef, it's not the canned stuff. It has onions and peppers in it and corn bread baked on top, yummy!

CP and Ankershus are really nice inside, great character interaction, food is good, and at Andershus you get the photo package with your meal.

They are unique in their own way and all are a great experience in my opinion. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

I've done all three and the best is definitely Tusker House. The food is awesome, lots of variety and the characters were great. The food at CP is pretty good, but it was crazy the morning we went and we only got to see half the characters. Akershus the character interaction was good, the princesses were all sweet and thought of clever things to say to us. The food is pretty good, loved the potatoes, the rest was pretty basic. We were on the DxDP, not sure I would pay OOP for Akershus, but I would for Tusker House if that helps.
