Everyone!

Taking opinions on best backpack(s) that you all use while going to Disney World. Looking to buy a new one. Looking for it to a hold a camera, at least a sweatshirt, and maybe a bottle water or two. What are you DISers suggestions?

On our last trip, we took my DH's hiking backpack. It's an REI brand hiking backpack. They make waterproof ones that are good on water rides and they have many different zippers, pouches, and pockets. DH's an outdoorsman, so we didn't buy the backpack for our trips, but it is perfect for them.

Edit: I was able to store my digital camera, two water bottles (on the sides), extra quarters for pressed pennies, our autograph book and retractable Sharpies, some souvenirs, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, the kids' jackets (rolled up), ponchos, extra pins that didn't fit on our lanyards, a small retractable umbrella, and a bag of snacks in there.

We alternate between 2--- a hiking type one, North Face (but the smaller one) and my petite drawstring Nike bag.

The NF is nice because our water bottles fit nicely, plus sunscreen, ponchos, etc. But when we return for just the evenings let's say, I likey small drawstring NIke

I second the "waterproof" option. Between rides and weather, getting wet at WDW is a strong possibility. I see a lot of people with the CamelBaK Packs that include a "hydration pack" but I don't like the weight (or warm water). Here is a good review of options for day packs. It's based on European travel but the concepts hold true for WDW.

I love this bag. We have 3 of them. I've used this for all amusement park trips. Water bottles fit in the side and has a cinch to hold them. Or put an umbrella in the water bottle pouch and hook the wrist strap with the side buckle of the pack. It's light but can hold a lot. I can carry the kids light hoodies, autograph books, snacks, etc.

Light weight
Comes in 2 sizes
Water proof (put towels in it and dunked it in the pool to test it. A small amout of water came in through the zippers, but really, who dunks their back pack into the swimming pool? )
Affordable and durable

I used to use a string bag, but with a sweatshirt and waterbottle or two, it got kind of heavy and the strings really did into your shoulders. I switched to a Gonex backpack. It is a similar weight and material to a string bag, but has regular wide straps. My favorite part is that it folds up to nothing, so I can put it in my pocket empty in the morning to skip bag check, then open it up and put my stuff in later in the day.

I like a hiking backpack with a hydration pouch. Their straps are easy on the shoulders/back, and I find the hydration pouch easier than water bottles. We get the large jugs of water on our grocery run and fill them in the morning with a combination of ice and water... the water stays cold all day and it's like having an ice pack on your back so we stay cool when the weather is hot. Plus you have the benefit of it getting lighter as the day goes on.

Osprey makes some very nice packs and so does Camelbak .... pack sizes in the 10L - 16L size range are a good size for carrying camera, jackets, sunscreen and such.

Hello,
What size of this bag did you get? and how much stuff can you fit in for the parks?

Trying to go with out a stroller this year and need a place for waters, snacks and sunscreen.

Thanks.
