Where are best areas to watch Wishes and does Tinkerbell still fly beforehand?

Assuming Tinkerbell does still fly (the last time I saw Wishes was X-Mas 2001), the best place is either in front of or to the right of the castle.

In December I was told that the Rose Garden was a good place to see Wishes. Didn't get a chance to try then, but I'll be in the Rose Garden in a few weeks!

We really enjoyed the view that we had from the hub. We staked out a spot on the left side as you face the castle. We had a wonderful view of Tink's flight and the spectacular fireworks display that brought tears to my eyes.

Have a great time! Maggie

I'll try to explain where we stood.... great view. We walked into the Rose Garden on the right hand side of the castle (sort of on the bridge to Tomorrowland). As you walk under the wrought iron trellis/sign go almost straight ahead into a little fenced in "U". The fence will be in front of you and on your left and right. Tinkerbelle's wire will be right over your head. We staked out this area about an hour before Wishes this past January and had a GREAT VIEW with no heads in front of us!! We spent that hour having snacks and taking turns using the bathroom!

That said, I recently saw video of the fireworks taken from Main Street in front of the RR station. It was a TOTALLY different perspective! We knew we were missing out on a few of the "shape" fire works, but they looked totally different from this angle! But that being said, I think I would still be tempted to find my "favorite" spot again. We had an unimpeded view with no heads in front of us.... great photos, and we were able to hear the music/soundtrack with no trouble!!..........................P

I LOVED it from every where we watched it, but I would have to agree with pjlla--the ROSE garden all the way at the end is great...could almost TOUCH TINK!!!! BUT it should be watch at least once from the Train Station!!!! AND just a question,,but isn't WISHES NEW to this year? Suzanne 033 mentioned she saw it in 2001,,

HAVE A DISNEY DAY
Tink

Once from the Hub (too close IMO) didn't get the full effect, once for the middle of Mainstreet about 1/2 way down, once from the train station stairs, twice from the Ferry Dock dock at the TTC, and twice from Poly (once on the beach and once front and center window in Ohanas). I think I liked the Dock and Ohanas the best, they have the soundtrack loud and clear at both locations.

When we first saw Wishes(which was on our most recent trip)we had to watch it from Liberty Square because we had just got off of the Haunted Mansion and the whole place was CROWDED!:(

Ive saw Fantasy in the sky twice- Tinkerbell hasnt flown either of those times!- The weather was fine so I dont know where she was  . Anyway, I know its not wishes, but I watched Fantasy in the Sky from the middle of the train station - perfect clear view of the fireworks (great for video or photographs) but despite the distance, the music was very easy to hear- no muffling or missing of any sections.:rockband:

Oh yeah forgot to say Yes Tinkerbell does still fly, and you can even see her from Ohanas... :)

One week ago we watched from directly in front of the castle.
Bad idea. Some fireworks go up from the sides of the castle, but the majority are behind the castle. Go slightly to the right of the castle. Best spot for viewing Tink's quick flight as well.
Wishes is spectacular. Like nothing I have ever seen.
Completely different, along with different sounds coming from them.

We just watched Wishes this past Tues. night, May 4th, and had an awesome view! We had dinner at the Plaza Restaurant (across the street from Casey's hotdogs on Main Street). We were going to stake out a place for the fireworks and first went to the restrooms between the Plaza Restaurant and the Plaza Pavilion Food Court. NO ONE was in the seating area that faces the castle.

So, at 8:15 we all sat down to front row seats. We spent the next 45 min. taking turns shopping on Main Street. At 9 PM Tinkerbell flew over our heads and we had a perfect view of the fireworks WITH SEATS!

We saw it last month, 3 times. (And I, too, thought it just started in Oct 2003? Maybe that was Fantasy In The Sky in 2001?). Yep, Tink (or is it the blue Fairy?) flies over on the wire near TomorrowLand. We watched it from the TomorrwLand bridge the first night and thought "this is the BEST SPOT to watch from". The next time we were sitting in the Plaza Pavillion and thought that was the best spot! Well, they were both great spots, however, it wasn't until the 3rd viewing, from Main Street (we were about where Casey's is, but in the middle of the street and closer to the castle) that we realized how much of the show we missed by sitting to the right of it. I thought we were just missing a little of the fireworks off to the left, but there was more fireworks over there than I realized, plus the effects they show ON the castle. Be sure to see it from Main St., I've heard from CM's that the RR Station is a good place, also the tables near Casey's. That's what we were told on our Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Main St is the best place to view from, if you want to see all of the effects. If you mostly want to see Tink up close, then the TomorrowLand Bridge or Plaza Pavillion are good places.

Wow! I know exactly where you mean. I watched the "old" fireworks from there, and also loved the fact that I could sit (as well as it was a great view). But it was a very slow time, so I figured that now those seats would all be packed early. That's definitely the first place I'll check in a couple weeks-Thanks for the info.

Tink always flies unless the weather is not good and that includes wind. I read about people watching wishes from up by the train on main street and having seats. I heard this was a great spot. I don't know too much about it but we thought we would check it out when we went. Also you are very close to the exit when the show is over.

Another good place is the area in front of the baby center, near Crystal Palace. There is several bench seats if you are there early enough, can hear the music and have a great view.

Thanks for all the replies. We used to sit down off to side of the Tomorrowland bridge and wait for it until people started to kick us as they walked then step right in front of us(you guessed it, I'm vertically challenged at 5'2" and these people were 6'+.

My question is where is the Rose Garden near the bridge? Is it the same bridge that has "Tomorrowland" overhead or somewhere else? I think I remember where everything else is, so if someone can give me some landmarks...?

Yes.... you go partially over the Tomorrowland bridge and then take a left into the Rose Garden.....................P
