We will be in a studio and were told that we couldn't request first floor so what about the buildings w/elevators-are those hard to get too and are they located far from the main pool? We're not lazy, but don't want to have to drag a double stroller up and down the stairs each time we go somewhere.

Did Member Services say that you could not request first floor? This is the first I have heard of it. Those double strollers can be huge - I don't blame you for not wanting to lug it up and down the stairs!

you can request first floor.

the ones with the elevators are 62, 63 & 64 - the newest so they are requested the most.

the problems with a first floor studio - your view could be of the air conditioning units, you don't get a view due to overgrowth of the shurbs and burshes (for privacy especially for the 1-bedroom), or you might get a handicapped room.

but you can definitely request one. those things are heavy to hauling up and down steps.

that say - hauling that thing on and off the bus will be a big pain. Can you find something easier to haul? remember it must be folded up and not in the way of the other guests.

We are renting points from someone (although we do intend to purchase dvc on this trip :cheer2: ), he said "I couldn't request the low floor, sorry" in one of his confirmation emails to us. This was booked kind of last minute so maybe that's why? Should we just try at check in?

We just stayed at OKW less than a month ago and we had no problems requesting the 1st floor at check-in. We didn't want to be dragging our stroller up and down stairs either. We had a beautiful view of a pond with a fountain in it. It looked like buildings 37-39 all had pretty nice views if memory served me.

thanks, I'll definetly try at check in!

Oh and Spiceycat, the double we have is actually kind of compact-it's umbrella style so it folds up fairly nicely and of course we always make sure it's not in anybody's way on the buses ;) -that said, it's still fairly heavy to have to lug up and down stairs everyday! But no it's not a huge monstrosity type of double stroller. :dogdance:

:thumbsup2
We were at OKW in August and both my son's and daughter's families had double jogging strollers. We were in building 63 on the second floor. This building does have an elevator which came in handy. It along with building 62 that has an elevator is a short distance to the main pool and Hospitality House. Hopes this helps.
