Now I know why there are never any LGMHs in the Home Depot in Newnan!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I accept the Emmy on behalf of Sharky and myself for pulling the greatest prank ever, (taking bow) ....it was all so sudden and we didn't have any way of getting in touch with you but you taking his picture of his facial expression would have been priceless!!!

Wwe had more fun doing that than we have doing anything lately. It's great to beat a prankster at his own game!!!!!

Here's those beautiful hummingbirds I was telling everyone about. They are still here too, going crazy over the feeders. I love it!

You know I never did get a funnel cake when I was there I meant to though.

I had a walking stick in my hand. I bought it at one of the vendors as the grounds were all hilly and with my back being out all week it helped get me up those hills, lol.

That was a walking stick I bought from a vendor as the grounds were all hilly and it helped this old body get up those hills in that horrible heat when my big ole butt was dragging, lol

I was using the nectar in a bottle it's a concentrate and you just dilute with water. Lately though I've been making my own, one cup sugar to five cups of hot water, melt the sugar in the hot water and then add some red food coloring. They are eating up a storm. I think you need to take your feeder down soon though because as long as there is a food supply they will stay and then they will freeze to death. it is an old wies tale though that they hitch a ride on the big birds. They can't fly that high or they freeze to death, they fly at a very low altitude and they scan for food on their way further south!!! I'll miss them when they go but I don't want them to die so I'll reluctantly take my feeder down soon as well. I'm further south so I have about 3 more weeks.

So--the lady in Walmart was wrong about the BIG BIRD theory?? I kept watching these big geese fly over and was wondering if my little birdies would catch a ride! Good advice about stopping the food though--this is my first summer in VA--and I wouldn't won't them to freeze here in the mountains.
I'm going to print out your recipe too--it's probably cheaper and they have run through a lot this summer. I have giant hostas near the feeders which I let bloom and it was fun seeing them buzz from the flowers to the feeders!
Maybe I'll start back filling up my other feeders soon. I had some pretty little gold finches in the spring.
