I'll download pics and share and share some stories when I get organized but for now here's a quick summary of everything that went wrong!!!!
We had the check engine light go on in our brand new truck, so spent two days off and on in a chevy dealership and they never got us the part. Then going into a steep driveway of a gas station our generator got crushed and leaked 6 gallons of gas all over DH's truckbed. Then we get to my MIL's and he works on it off and on for four days, put money into parts and his trouble and we thought we had it. WRONG! Then we get to NJ safely, thank God, have a wonderful visit with my kids and my DGS and then my DGS has to go to the emergency room and they keep him overnight. That was very upsetting but was glad I was there for Trentmom.
Then my DS gets a cold so I can't see him the last two days in NJ. I can't have him over Trentmom's as can't take a chance he'll infect DGS and I can't see him on my own as I may bring something back to DGS.
Then, we go back to PA and have a great time but as soon we go to use the supposedly fixed generator it breaks all the way! So off we go to Home Depot and spend $800 for a new one. Then we have no more problems while there but as we leave, about 12 miles into the ride home we get a blow out and have a flat. DH changes it and we get on our way. We are pretty much okay for the time being. We make it to Bristol, TN or actually a little past that, more like just north of Knoxville. Then we stop for the night in a pilot truckstop. The place was packed with big diesel engines running all night. We get our generator running and go to sleep. We wake up in the middle of the night with the carbon monoxide detector going off from all the trucks running. So we had to open our vents to let it out and after that it stopped so we went back to sleep. Next trip we'll take a canary to be sure we have healthy air, lol.
Then we get up and have to wait around until 9 PM to find someplace open to get a new tire. We got lucky there, the tire was destroyed but we got a new one mounted and put back on the camper and the spare back on the back for $82! Can't beat that. We have one good day with no problems driving, lol, but get too tired so we stopped last night in a
Walmart in Forest, MS and stayed there. We leave this morning and are driving and we see something flapping in the wind and it's the vinyl trim that covers the seam on the side of the camper, without it the rain could come in. We stopped at a rest stop, DH climbed up on top of the truck and was able to get that trim back on.Then we made it home safely with no furthre problems, thank God!!!!!
I'm telling you one more day on the road and who knows what would have happened. I'm just glad to be home safely.
I've missed you all and am trying to catch up now!
