We're planning a trip to Orlando in May and our list of parks to visit includes Magic Kingdom. Where crowds are concerned, is there a better day of the week to go over another day? I remember reading a long time ago that Mondays tend to be one of the busiest days. We're trying to plan out which day is best to visit...

Would love to hear your input. Thanks.

As a general rule of thumb for anything crowd-related, I always assume that Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are the least crowded choices until I hear otherwise.

In may, if you avoid Memorial Day Weekend, and Star Wars Weekend, pretty much all days are low crowd days--7 or below according to easywdw

From everything I have seen and read, avoid Sundays at MK like the plague if possible because everyone arrives on Sunday and can't wait to see the castle. Mondays have the early hours as well so avoid that day if possible.

I think from everything I have seen, Wednesdays at MK are the least crowded.

I use easywdw.com to plan out my park days. Takes the guess work out of the equation and gives you an idea of what to expect. Look at the crowd calendar for which parks are recommended on each day, then read his day by day explanations and discussions of events that may affect crowds in each park that day.

But.... if there is eve emh at MK on Sunday nights Go! We have had great luck doing that, arriving in the park in the evening and getting so much done, even during our last trip in 2012 which was Easter week.

Unfortunately I miss being there on Sunday night for my upcoming trip. We are doing our rope drop day on a Tuesday, and going into the park Thursday for dinner at 6pm at the Plaza then hitting what we can until park close at 11pm that night.

That's what I'm doing on my upcoming trip! Spending the morning at AK, lunch at Kona and then spending the rest of the day at MK until 1am!

I read somewhere ( and the crowd calendars at Touring Plans tend to support this theory) that Fridays - Mondays are the busiest. Most people tend to go to MK as the first and/or last thing on their trips. Sine most people travel weekends, midweek tends to be slower.
