Best affordable place to stay near Disneyland

How was the breakfast there? thanks

I honestly don't eat the breakfast but I've checked it out. If I remember correctly: toast, danish, cereal, oats, coffee, juice, cheese chunks (this made my husband & son laugh, but yeah, squares of cheddar cheese), and I think hard-boiled eggs. They may have yogurt, too.

I just bring protein shakes and sometimes get something from Panera down the street.

"Good" "affordable" and "close" are pretty much going to be mutually exclusive (like the old saying, "you can pick only 2: cheap, fast, or good") Best and affordable won't be close, affordable and close won't be very good, and good and close won't be cheap! You'll have to decide which 2 of those are most important and use the info posters are giving you to make a decision.

For me, ones I've actually stayed at:
Cheap and close: Park Vue
Close and good: Grand Californian ($$$)
Good and cheap: an Airbnb away from DLR*

*If you have to drive or shuttle there, it almost doesn't matter if it's 10 minutes or 20 minutes away. I value cheap and close unless it's a splurge, relax at the pool kind of trip.

I've stayed at many of the motels right at the crosswalk: Tropicana, Park Vue, Desert Inn and Suites, Fairfield, BW Park Place Inn and Suites. They've all been clean and comfortable and close. They're all basic, but will get the job done, especially for one night.

I generally just look to see which is the least expensive and go with that. If you book well in advance, it will probably be the Desert Inn; if you wait a while, they are all more similar in price. If you are driving, Park Vue has free parking, so make sure you factor that in.

I like Desert Inn and Suites, it's right across the street. Fairly cheap, nothing fancy, but is very clean I found the rooms quiet and the free breakfast was a bonus. My kids and I really enjoyed it.
This is my go-to hotel when it's available. No frills. Very close to the crosswalk.

If you don't have any relatives within SoCal, might I suggest a Holiday Inn Express? There is one within an ART bus ride of Disneyland's gates, with reasonable pricing, and best of all, those famous cinnamon rolls!
