If we are looking at end of September first of October to go. What 5 days would be best as for as crowds? Earlier I asked best time Sept or Oct. DH doesn't do crowds well and opted to avoid October now that everyone says it's busier. So are weekends too?
We were there end of September in 2004 after 4 hurricanes and it was REALLY hot. I know we can't predict weather but would 3 weeks later be that much cooler. What about the difference in rainfall? Enough to compensate for the fact of value season rates and less crowded?
You guys are always so full of knowledge Thanks so much

I've heard that the weekends at EPCOT during the Food & Wine Festival are quite crowded. Not sure otherwise. I'm planning a trip for the end of September/first of October myself!

You are going at a good time...lower crowds overall...but to really avoid them, stay away from Friday (especially Friday nights) and Saturday. It's always busier on the weekend at WDW.

If you are just staying five nights, try arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday. I'm doing that myself on my next trip to avoid crowds. We arrive Sunday afternoon and I just plan on going to DTD and hanging out at the hotel, then we leave late afternoon Friday and we are just doing the pool thing and maybe DTD again before we leave.

I also avoid EMH parks to avoid crowds. I'm not an early riser anyway, so if MK has an EMH morning, I go to MGM or AK or Epcot. If MK has an evening EMH and I'm not planning on going to it, I try to be out of MK by 4pm or so and go to another non-EMH park that evening.

We went in Sept 2002 about mid-month and the timing was great because there were minimal crowds. We try to avoid them as well. The only thing to consider is that in Sept it can still be hot/humid, so this will be something to consider. We don't mind it, so it was great for us :)
We've been there twice in Sept and always managed to avoid a Hurricane, although there was one floating out in the Atlantic each time.

My in-laws went one year in Oct and said that the parks were great. Minimal crowds and not as hot, but warm enough.

Enjoy!
