We are a family of 5 2 adults an 3 kids (3,4,7) we just booked a Cruise, and I am wondering what room would be best. I want to make sure we don't have the overhang over our balcony. Thanks so much for your help !

If you don't want the overhang then you should go down to Deck 9 or under.
You want to make sure the 4A you pick has the Queen bed (obviously), but the Pullman bed, couch bed and the Ceiling bed in the stateroom for your 3 kids. Some of the 4A have one of them missing, either the Pullman or the ceiling bed.

Check the Dis reviews of the staterooms on the Dis. If you wish to look out at the island of CC then you would want the Right hand (starboard)side of the ship as it usually reverses in to the island.

Do all the balcony's on deck 10 have the overhang ? i had no idea some didnt have the pullman bed. Thank you so much !!!!

Booked room 7566 on the Dream, how would I know if its on the left or right side.

Yes the overhang is on all the 4A Staterooms on Deck 10.

The only ones that don't have it are the 5E at the Back. They are smaller sq ft, but have larger balconys, sleep 3/4( again like above some may not have a Pullman) no use to you.

All deck 10 cabins have the overhang above, one way or the other, it affects the view. Perhaps only up, but it still affects the view. IMO
Those deck 10 cabins under the fore and aft bump-outs are another story. As those have a much larger overhang to deal with. Which only restricts the views, even more. If under the bump-out.

Well, if you just booked a cruise, why don't you have a cabin assignment?

I agree with PP as you do not want a cabin on deck 10 due to the overhang. Not to mention the potential noise generated above at all hours by the crew cleaning the decks, pool noise, and what not.

Unless that is your desirable cabin.

Why do you specifically mention "overhang" if you don't mind me asking?

May I suggest looking at this? http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/index.php
This site allows deck dragging ability which is priceless IMO.

Pretty much. :)

If you are booking a cabin for 5, as it seems you are, if your plans are for one cabin, then the room configuration will be a queen bed (2), sofa single(1), ceiling bunk(1), murphy (1)

Notice the balcony/veranda divider that is opened. And notice the fixed veranda partition, showing the tiny porthole in the fixed , structural partition. Few see this. This element is normal aft, as structural elements dwarf pax concerns, and those that have sailed aft know this.

^^^This is a good question. If you've already booked, are you hoping to change your cabin? If so, are there still so many 4As still available that you could have your pick? I agree with PPs that you might want to look at other decks, though. We LOVE 4Bs. We find deck 8 to be perfect for us, as we take the stairs everywhere and it's only a few flights up or down to the places we go most often :)
