Best 1day, park to park option for Fla resident?

My DS has a friend who will be joining us for 1 day on our trip. He is a Florida resident and would like a 1day, park to park ticket. He is 17 and pretty budget minded. Tried to suggest annual pass or multiple day tickets that have 6mo before they expire, but he is hesitant because of $$.

Does the Universal website offer the best prices for Fla resident tickets? How do the gate prices compare to online for residents?

Can anyone suggest an alternative maybe I haven't considered?

The normal price for the one day park to park ticket is $112.00 and the FL resident price is $94.99 which has blackout dates but not until the holidays.
